2 languages spoken at home, delayed language, and AS dx
I'm assuming this would have an effect on language development. anyway would the rule of no language delay for AS be relaxed in this situation? This was the case in my household. I think I met milestones but spoke very little.

-as of now official dx is ADHD (inattentive type) but said ADD (314.00) on the dx paper, PDD-NOS and was told looks like I have NLD
There's no guideline that specifically says that bilingual children with delayed speech are allowed or denied the diagnosis. It only says language retardation rules out AS - which gives no indication of the existence of any exceptions.
So the same question is raised with hearing impaired children or those with a temporary hearing impairment (caused by an infection of the middle ear or similar).
In most cases those with a language delay due to a (temporary) hi are classified as PDD-NOS, not as AS. Because it cannot be assessed whether they would have spoken on time if circumstances had been different. PDD-NOS would be the only correct label.
To give a diagnosis of AS or PDD-NOS is something the professional can do as they see fit though, no matter whether you meet the criteria or not.
