I'm planning to start blogging soon. Not on WP; in general. I think my writing skills are fine, but my computer/internet knowledge is very average. I'd really appreciate any advice you might have on the following 3 issues:

1 - What's the best/easiest way to create, and maintain, a blog (what sites, etc.). I'd like it to look pretty good (i.e. as professional, and attractive, as possible), but I need something that doesn't require advanced IT knowledge, html, etc. Also, what's the best/easiest way to put photos on it? Money isn't an issue (within reason).

2 - I'm not going to write about myself, or AS - I've got a few subjects in mind. To help me decide what in particular to write about, could you tell me what kind of blogs/subjects may attract a large readership? Also, how can I publicize it as effectively as possible?

3 - Is there any other advice you could offer?, i.e. something I haven't thought of.

This is pretty important to me, and I'd really appreciate it if you could spare a few minutes to help point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance. :)

What you'll need to blog:
A CMS(Content Management System)- A CMS is basically software for making a site. Popular ones are Drupal and Joomla. However, for blogging, Wordpress is the best. If you want an easy set up, Wordpress also offers a domain, and free hosting. The domain will cost money, but you don't have to mess around installing it onto some other hosting account, which is quite complex.
A Domain- You don't need this, but it's certainly professional. A domain is a website name, for example, 'wrongplanet.net' or, 'google.com.' You can host domains on a server, but this is very hard and some ISPs(Internet Service Providers[i.e Tiscali, BT, Comcast, etc.]) don't allow it and can cancel your internet because of it.
I recommend Wordpress. My blog is on wordpress(I have yet to buy a domain):
crazerant.wordpress.com
I'm not advertising my blog, it's just to give you an idea of it. Just make a free account first to see if you like it.
I've made many blogs before and the only advice I can give is blog about what you want and don't make it a job. I use to do a news blog(technology) and to be quite frank, while fun at first, found it too stressful and ended up stopping.
Sorry if this isn't the advice you were looking for.
Good luck blogging.

That's a great help - thanks so much. Also, I've had a quick look at your blog - your writing skills are awesome for your age. Best of luck.
