I've read that feeling rejected increases aggression and lowers IQ.
Stress can affect mental functining.
I've been from normal to highly intelligent and back. I've on days and off days.
Anyone know how to maintain maximum functioning?

My I.Q. has been tested many times, and the scores range from being mentally ret*d to being at a genius level. My I.Q. varies widely from test to test. I don't think that I.Q. tests are accurate for any autistic person, especially for those of us who are moderately to severely autistic.

The only IQ test I've ever taken was on Facebook and I got 128.
I was far from my maximum but not in a big shutdown.

Maybe try some exercise and a healthy breakfast every morning, and maybe a vitamin, NOT the stuff in a box that looks like cat food. And during the day read about things you're interested in, and try to make things like inventions... construction toys like LEGO and K'nex are good for that, or arts and crafts stuff, or whatever works for what you are smart about.

When your agitated or anxious your focus is divided so really its not that your intelligence is lower its that your focus is split. I should know I went to have a formal IQ test done and all my scores were all messed up and the person who read them said that my scores would have been a lot higher if I was not so nervous.

I cannot maintain maximum functioning for long, but here are the things that help:

* Being alone. When others are observing me or my performance, I'm at my worst. I cannot even do simple arithmetic in such situations.
* Putting no pressure on myself and being in an egoless state. (Anxiety and stress are detrimental to my performance.)
* When focusing on something extremely interesting, my mind will not have to expend energy on staying focused. The thoughts are free to flow, information is easily absorbed, and new associations are made.
* Getting regular exercise and enough sleep etc.
* Stimulating the mind by learning something new or by challenging my own biases and assumptions.

outlier, you sum it up perfectly. This describes me exactly, especially the bit about being watched. I absolutely can't stand being watched doing just about anything - instant and sustained overload.

They aren't accurate for ANY person. I.Q. tests are crap.
