hi, i am looking for some films about autism or (better) Asperger. any ideas? i know Rain man, my name is Khan, this kind of film. i am not looking for a documentary, just a good and maybe funny film (something "light", i don't want to be sad after watching it :) ). do you know some titles of films, songs or books?
just one thing, i am italian so the less famous sometimes have no translation
thank you very much

In terms of books, Neurotribes by Steve Silberman I hear is a great book on autism and its history. I used it as part of a research paper earlier this year, and what I read was very interesting and enlightening.

The HBO film Temple Grandin is very very good, its my personal favourite.

Rainman
Fly away
Extremely loud and incredibly close
Adam
The black balloon
Loving lampposts (documentary)
Autism in love (documentary)
Sounding the alarm (documentary and not a great one)
The horse boy

Books
The curious incident of the dog in the nighttime
Understanding autism for dummies
Guide to Aspergers by tony attwood.

Additionally, here are some tv shows with autistic characters in them

House (episode:lines in the sand)
Community- Abed
Parenthood- Max
Touch
Skins

Asperger's on the Inside by Michelle Vines was a great read if you're after a biography. I've just started Neurotribes and it's very good so far. I have no idea if there are Italian translations, though.

In the third and fourth season of Skins there is an Aspie character named JJ. I think it'd a pretty good representation compared to a lot of others.

I recommend the TV show Bones, the lead character (a woman) has aspie traits that are portrayed in a more realistic and subdued way than say a Rain Man or Sheldon Cooper steriotype. She is relatable for me at least as an Aspie woman.

Neurotribes is good, too.
