Why is it that when my teachers taught sex ed they always claimed that it is impossible to get aids orally? By this i mean they claimed that there is no way to get aids through the mouth. I gave counter examples each time one of them taught that idea, and they just blew me off as being rude for disrupting other students' educations.

It is possible, though not as likely, to get AIDS orally. Women have given AIDS to other women through oral sex.

You honestly think that students who think for themselves and their opinions are actually valued in the public education system? They do not even value the employees having opinions and deciding things for themselves when it deviates from the script.

I am sure the teachers were following a script sent down from above and you, with your comments, actually deviated from that script. Besides, how many students actually listen to the teachers in sex ed?

Maybe the teacher/textbook was just misinformed or the information hadn't surfaced yet. I'm sure it wasn't done on purpose though. A teacher would follow the textbook and assume a student is just trying to stir up trouble if they said something that wasn't in the textbook.

That's a myth, and it's shocking that they are teaching BS like that in schools. Reminds me of the sex ed class in the movie Mean Girls, which went something like, "If you have sex, you WILL get chlamydia and die."

The teacher most likely reacted like they did because they were embarrassed that you were smarter than them. Teachers can be as*holes like that.

My RE teacher said that Hindus are strictly polytheistic, so when I said they weren't she was in denial. It even says on Wikipedia they're not JUST polytheistic.
My ICT teacher said 'You'd need an IP to get your site on Google' WTF... of course they have IPs when the computer's connected to the internet. I have an IP on the computer I'm typing from, but I know that I can't host sites on it because I don't bs to oblivious people. Secondly, even if I could host sites, it doesn't mean they'll be on Google.
And once my old RE teacher was making up crap about Google. He was saying there's going to be the G-Phone(not even called that[I know, the codename was G-Phone]) and it would know what you want to do in regards to your searches. WTF, that's a complete violation of Google's Privacy Policy. When I raised my hand to correct him, I think he knew that I knew he was bsing. And he also made up crap about the way Google indexes it's searches.
And I only know this because I specialize in the subjects, so no doubt I've been bsed to before by teachers and not noticed.

Google "scans" the internet for website and stuff, and all sites can end up in a google search if the site showed up in google's scans... also, the more hits a site gets, the closer to the first page it will be.

I doubt Google would(IDK though) scan hundreds of IPs, because that's the only way it'd find my server, lol.

Try searching your server, and be specific enough that your server should be the only search result...

Because they're stupid.

Keep up the good work. Consider it a public service. You don't have to win. Just questioning it out-loud gives the student a chance to think again that he might not have had.

Sex ed in schools is just stupid all around. They tried to teach us that EVERYONE should practice abstinence there whole lives. I think I was the only one logical enough to realize that we'd go extinct as a race if that happened.

They taught us that you should only have sex with one person your whole life. Hello 1950's.

Sex ed classes are mostly total crap, and they come too late so we already know everything we need to know. Why bother telling 14-year-olds that having sex without a condom can get you pregnant and/or diseased, don't we already KNOW that by now? Or is that just me?

Nah, I knew all that when I was 11, you're not alone.
I think the whole sex with one person is stupid. If everyone were to have that attitude... there'd be less humans, presumably. Anyway, I'll have sex with anyone I want, thank you very much conventional beliefs :p.
But yeah, in general I think sex ed. classes are sort of stupid. If I wanted to know about this stuff I'd go online and research it(which I have done) rather than being told by a teacher. Why would anyone want to talk to a teacher about that? The truth is they wouldn't and find it very awkward. It should be taught by someone anonymous so you can ask them questions about the subject. The fact it's done in a classroom full of judgmental teenagers shows how pointless is it is.

Actually, there are a LOT of myths about conception and contraception that a LOT of people believe EVEN TODAY! Maybe if they realized that even CONDOMS and the pill are not 100% effective, and that fully random acts have only perhaps a 16% of conception on even a fully healthy and fertile couple(so friends that SAY they tried something that worked may have simply tried on the other 84% of the time), there would be less carelessness. Then again, AIDS SHOULD be a deterrent, but there are a LOT of lies told about THAT also. Anyway, teachers don't cover THAT enough and cover some other things too much.

As for abstinence, a LOT of people were born to a monogamous relationship.

Isn't said like _a lot_ in movies that they're not 100% effective?
And I don't mean cheating on people, I mean not being stuck with one person my whole life. And that's why I said conventional beliefs.

Why didn't they just let us read Penthouse? that's where I got most of my edjumacashun...;)
They had it in 5th and 8th grade. My gym teacher was so embarrassed, he played the radio skit of 'who's on first?' (Abbott and Costello...not the Elvis one...;) Fortunately, I had ample opportunities to find out about sex from movies and books, before the Reagan years...;)
