Has anyone here seen this kid, Clay Marzo, who was diagnosed with Asperger's in 2007? He's an AMAZING surfboarder, and I don't even have an interest in surfboarding!

I learned about him online, by chance, and I guess he has a new DVD out called "Just Add Water" available at Quicksilver.com. I haven't seen it. I'm wondering if any of you out there have seen the DVD. I was thinking about purchasing it as a possible aid when I discuss my son's diagnosis with him.

Anyways, if you haven't seen anything about Clay Marzo, do an internet search and watch any info you can on YouTube. His story is fascinating, and entertaining. The DVD could be really useful when talking with teens with Asperger's.

It's quite easy for an aspie to get hooked on a sport that doesn't depend on team participation. I was diagnosed with AS at age 36 and am also a long-time skateboarder - started when I was 9 - and am an occational snowboarder or surfer too. Unfortunately I don't have any advice about the DVD as I've never heard of it.

BTW, In your thread title (and your personal vocabulary), you might want to change "surfboarder" to "surfer". I don't know why someone who rides a surfboard is a "surfer" while someone who rides a snowboard is a "snowboarder", but that's what they're usually referred to as. You'll have an easier time finding the DVD if your keyword is "surfer" than if it were "surfboarder".
