I know a lot of us can hate loud noises. I'm okay with a lot of loud noises, but shouting is one of those loud noises I cannot stand.

In school whenever it seems like the teacher is going to shout it sends me into a mini-meltdown and even though I look calm, inside things like panic build up inside me. Some students laugh when the teacher shouts but I absolutely hate it. And when someone shouts (especially at me) that voice for some reason may echo in my head.

Apparentely when I was younger I would cry even if I wasn't the one being shouted at. And of course, I obviously hate being shouted at.

Is this similar for anyone else?

I don't like shouting either, and I hated it when a teacher would shout in class. I think it had something to do with my anxiety, and I guess the shouting gave me a fright. Nowadays however not so much, if I hear anyone shout I will treat it as any other noise, and just try to get away from it.

My father and my grade school teacher both had a violent temper, and I hate shouting. I will switch TV channels if a character in a show starts shouting. (That's why I've never liked "Faulty Towers".)

Yeah, I can't stand shouting. I remember, in my first year of school, having to hold my head in my hands when the teacher was shouting at someone else. I actually couldn't shout myself for a long time because I was quite afraid of the noise I would make.

There's one exception: I really like the voice my sister adopts when she is shouting. I can't help but laugh and rock back and forth. Obviously this is does nothing to repair any situations where she is shouting at me in anger.

I'm bothered by shouting/harsh tones of voice, but what irritates me more is multiple people trying to talk over each other. This is why I can't watch Fox News and need to hide in the basement when my mom's family comes over. The people have no concept of turn taking in conversation.

being up to a distance away from someone shouting=meltdown, the usual for severe sensory problems and hyperacusis.

Yeah.
Shouting is one of those things that makes me react like a 3-year-old.
