I'm in my 40s, but my voice sounds like that of a teenage boy.

I have a young voice, but I'm small.

It sure does most of the time and kind of quiet too except for when I'm angry. When I try to sound more like an adult women, it works only while I'm actively remembering to do it. The minute I forget back to sounding kind of like a child again. I try at least once a month to sound my age (27).

My vocabulary can one day sound like a 5 year old, and another day sound like a teenager, and another day sound like a professor.
But my actual voice is a tough one. I can imitate people without even noticing, so my own voice is not my own. I also don't have a common voice for a female, it's kind of deep.

I'm actually a rather large guy ... not built or towering, just 5'10, but I weigh over 300 lbs. That said, my voice usually surprises people because it is so weak. It doesn't come in so handy when I get road rage. As soon as they hear my voice, they know it's over for me and I do too.

People always mistake me as a man, on the phone. I have a very gruff voice for my age.

Yeah, my aunt always gets me confused with her grandchildren. She says we sound the same.

I definitely sound younger than my age.

Someone told me that the majority of people with AS he knew (like me) had "screechy" voices.
I think my voice is about right though.

My diction and choice of words is close to that of a child, my voice on the otherhand is normal...I think.

Well, I don't have a "screecy" voice. I think it sounds nice. A few people HAVE told me they like it. But I sound like I am maybe 20. Supposedly, I LOOK like I am 35, though I would guess about 50. I am pretty much between the two. Still, one supplier stopped me MID SENTENCE when I said I had been in the business 20 years. He thought I was maybe 20, even though I was about 35 at the time. When I told my current boss about this, he thought a moment and said "Yeah, you do have a kind of young voice". Who knows? Maybe it is because I kind of talk from the front of my mouth. Maybe it is because I talked so little. WHO KNOWS? Oh well, maybe the other guy was crazy and I am just imagining things, etc.... After all, who is to say how a young voice sounds?

Quite the opposite. My voice makes me sound older than I am. Some have said I sound a little like Dr. Gregory House. :P
