What my neuropsych evaluation did was tell the vocational rehab people the same thing I'd been telling them all along--I'm horrible at a lot of the things required for most minimum-wage jobs, but I have a lot of processing power in my head and would do great at college. Of course, since the neuropsychiatrist has a degree and I don't, it took him saying the same thing for them to believe me. I'm now getting support in going through college and I'm getting decent grades, too.

Right. Basically, IQ test, memory checkup, gross/fine motor skill analysis, visual/spatial skill analysis, academic achievement tests, MMPI and a couple of other personality tests, auditory processing and visual processing tests, and a conversation with a psychologist. I got the report back and it's come in handy because I've been better able to identify what I'm good and bad at.

I learned immensely. I found out I cannot teach school, due to the complex demands of executive functioning. I learned about my nonverbal learning disability and why I get lost all the time. I learned about my strengths and weaknesses. Of course, I had a two part eval. I had an IQ/neuro test, followed by a career interest test. The career interest test was less valuable, since I cannot work full time due to disability. Also, I know what my interests are and I don't need a test to tell me that.
