pick two things you know alot about
...or pick something with very clear similarities and very clear distinctions with plenty of research sources on line.

Bush, SR. vs. Bush, JR.
or
Apes vs. Monkeys
or
USA vs. the UK
or
Socialism vs. Capitalism

Hate to post this openly but one that I've used that gets them drooling is the fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) boat building industry in the developed world as opposed to traditonal hand fabricated wood boat building in the second world. (The third world doesn't give a s**t about the subject)
You can literally make a career on this topic and get chicks like you can't believe, I mean crawling all over you constantly. Of course you need a boat to be credible to begin with, and to get the chicks you need the boat and 'personality' which for an Aspie is childs play.

Hey, you ask for a lot of academic help... LOL

If you want something specific and technical, you can easily find scientific summaries on the Internet of approved drugs, like comparing and contrasting two pain relievers work in the human body to achieve pain relief (ibuprofen versus acetaminophen). The info is on medical websites where you can cite references and summarize information very cleanly.

Or you can do something trendy like how a government "bailout of a troubled bank" compares to the "big 3 automaker's bailout", summarize the 2 bailouts and say how those two are similar and different. Reference articles on the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, etc.

You could compare and contrast Barack Obama's first 8 weeks in office to Bill Clinton's first 8 weeks in office, thereby providing a lively walk down memory lane as well as summary of today's historic headline issues.

You can compare and contrast iPhones and Blackberries, using for reference a spate of technical consumer articles written recently.

If you want to suck up to your teacher, you can compare and contrast educational system issues, like different kinds of teaching methods (like lecture versus discussion).

Compare and contrast the categorical syllogism (the logic of Aristotle) with conditional logic.

This is getting interesting... how about comparing and contrasting particle theory versus wave theory, to describe how light travels?

Is that like crispy vs original receipe or are you talking about planetary crusts?
Wave/particle is incorrect since it is the 'condition' or 'situation' that appears to move/change and not the particle or wave.
