I thought it might be a good way to pass along a good read:

Right now I'm reading A Lion Among Men by Gregory Maguire. If you are familiar with the Broadway show "Wicked" it is based on one of his books.

Reading in progress topic

I think we are supposed to have these reading topics in the ARt, Writing and Music forum.

There is a topic/thread "Post a book you're reading" in that forum. 8)

Edit. Wrong forum. I changed it.

Oh, I love those books! When I read Wicked and Son of a Witch, I had no idea Wicked had been turned into a musical. Elphaba is one of my favorite book characters of all time.

Right now, I am re-reading Barchester Towers/The Warden, which are two books in one volume, by Anthony Trollope. They were written back in 1850 or so. The two stories were merged into one, and made into a TV mini-series in 1982, called "Barchester Chronicles," starring Nigel Hawthorne, Geraldine McEwan, Alan Rickman, Clive Swift, and Donald Pleasence. It was so good, I just had to read the book(s).

Oh, and I've been listening to Alan Rickman reading Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy.

Hmmm...I'm just imagining Elphaba Thropp and Eustacia Vye meeting each other at a party. That would be interesting.

I'm currently reading Max Brooks' World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War.

I'm not far into it but it's been surprisingly good. I was expecting pulp but it's very well thought out - so far.

Nothing. I've run out of books. Again. The last book I read was Godel, Escher, Bach .

I am currently reading a book by a Norwegian psychologist who recovered froms chizophrenia. No curebie story really, but lots of insight into how psychiatry works (and I agree with it). It's by Arnhild Lauveng, but I think there is no English translation.

I have been enjoying several audiobooks on my iPod. I am almost finished listening to "Just Beyond the Clouds" by Karen Kingsbury, and "Sushi for One?" by Camy Tang. I have also finished listening to a really great devotional book by Beth Moore called "Get Out of The Pit". I am also starting to listen to Max Lucado's "Facing Your Giants". Another book that I love to listen to is Billy Graham's "Angel" book. I have been interested in learning more about Angels and what their missions are like. Those are the books I have been listening to the last several weeks. :)

Well, at least it should be moved into the Random Discussion forum.

As for me, I'm slowly working through Batman: The Dailies (it's a really thick book).

I totally forgot I had another book I was reading, too. I need to pick it back up again.
