Changing Avatar: Need detailed directions....

Hi

I can't figure out how to change my avatar.

I have windows vista. On my picture file I have one I want t o use,. I think I uploaded it like I am supposed to onto AP site, but I can't seem to get it onto my Avatar.

The directions are not clear.

Can someone please do liek a chart in really AUT detail for me?
Like really detailed....
1. Log on to WP
2. Find the page........

I'm puzzled by your question. I know how to change an avatar. But what you say in your question doesn't seem to fit. There's no need to upload it anywhere but here. Upload it direct from your computer. And what's AP? And, I'm really confused by why you are asking for detail on how to log into WP. You are logged in, since you posted. Why should I explain to you how to do what you've already done?

I'm not sure if you know but your picture must fit this:

If it's bigger than 16 kb or huger than 130x160 you will be unable to upload it.

Upload it directly from your computer. That's easier.

If you want to upload it elsewhere first and use the url to then make sure you do copy the whole url like this: http://www.whereeveryoupictureis.com/blabla/blabla.jpeg

But that's the complicated version and you shouldn't do this from the sounds of it...

What to do: Just click browse, find your picture on your hard drive and then click submit.

No Iam on WP, but I can't seem to get it to change.

OK, here goes:

1. I go to Change Profile.

Here is what comes up:

Avatar Control Panel
Displays a small graphic image below your details in forum posts and on your profile. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 130 pixels, the height no greater than 160 pixels, and the file size no more than 15.77 Kb. Current Avatar


Select Avatar from gallery:
Upload Avatar from your machine:
Upload Through Forum Profile
Upload Avatar from a URL:

2. So I click, Upload from Machine

So did that. But it still is not changing.

3. I deleted my old avatar.

4. So now I have none.

Someone please help! I know I look like an idiot but I am not puter friendly. If you want to learn about first person sigluar past perfect Latin verbs I can help you there.

You need to click on one of the "Upload through forum profile" links. Either will actually work. It's telling you that if you want to upload an avatar from your own computer, you need to do that through your forum profile, and it gives you the link. The underline gives you a link. Or you can use the link Sora posted. It gets you to the same spot. Then from there you will again see "Upload Avatar from your machine:" and to the right of it a text entry box, and a "browse" button. Hit the "browse" button, find the picture, and select "open".

Was AP a typo for WP?
