Like many people here I can only relax and talk to people when I'm drunk. What is it about alcohol that just makes you not care, and relax? Is there any medication that can do this without the other bad effects of being drunk?

Percocet is the only medication that truly helped me but it was only one prescription and it lasted a couple of weeks, only. Drinking is weird. Like smoking cigarettes or marijuana it makes me feel uncomfortable. I can't describe it. It's an all over body discomfort that is impossible to put into words.
I only like drinking occasionally, not too often because it causes me to feel so dull and allergic.

Alcohol is a mild sedative, so it'll remove [some] anxiety you're feeling, plus in large enough doses, it'll depress your CNS which may help sensory overload.

First, you need to find the reason for why it makes you more social. If you start to not care about how you behave, and how others perceive you, that's social anxiety, and it's easy to fix with CBT that doesn't need medication.

Valium, and other minor-tranquilizers are the next step up. However, if you start to feel drunk from drinking alcohol through recreation, Valium will probably knock you around far more (I can't really get drunk, and Valium doesn't sedate me much).

I never drink myself and seriously don't understand anyone who does it just because "one needs it".

Do I feel uncertain, anxious, nervous, afraid and so on sometimes? Yes!! But that's no excuse on getting drunk, according to my own opinion.

Yes! somebody feel as I do, at least share the view of it.

Im totally terrified of all that has to do with alcohol. Im very affraid of drunk people. You know something has happened to them and they act weird and they scream and you know its not their real themselves.
