I often go at cheetah pace. It is problematic sometimes.

Yup. i do. I thought it was because I have to do it to get to lessons on time and because I go out alot with one of my friends who is tall and usually to theme parks where you want to get as much done in a day as possible.
I get complained at by many people for walking too fast aswell!

I walk fast. I call it the "Berkeley Shuffle" because I first noticed it when I was selling microdots on Telegraph Ave. I continued the 'purpose driven walk' thoughout my life, though. Just the other day the bus driver mentioned to me (he must have watched me walk across the cross walk and over to the bus in the bay at the transit center, cause I walked right in front of him) "there is a woman on a mission" I hoped he didn't see I walked just as fast when I passed onto my seat on the bus and it took 7 more minutes before we left.

From where my eyes are ( I am 5'6') it seems like everything is 'too far' to walk slow to get there. Anyway, if you are a single woman, out walking on the sidewalks of town or country, you want to look like you have a purpose, you have places to go and things to do, and anyone that might want to hassle, rob, harass, will pick on a easier target. So it is protection, as well.

anyway, why would anyone want to walk slow? (I agree, S_G!)

Merle

I walk fast, and I tend to walk "drunkenly" according to some, since I walk with a bit of a bob and don't stick to a straight walking path.

Oh yes. Mum calls it the airport walk. I even make it a bit of a game to dart around the people, like they are cones or something. I suppose it was only a problem when we'd go out to eat and the casino had this strange pattern on the rug, I could only walk on the pattern, which meant I was walking fast... into people.

I drive fast too, I wonder if there is a correlation?

yes, I walk fast. always have.

I also find the only exercise I truly enjoy is WALKING or Sexercise. All other forms of exercise or activity - blah. I guess bike riding is OK, but I still prefer walking. Swimming is OK, but I'm not that motivated to find a pool and such. Walking... easy. I can walk for miles if I'm in a good mood and enjoy it.
