I read Twilight last Sunday in one day then saw the movie and I'm psyched to get the other 3 books. I've almost finished reading the book a 2nd time and seen the movie 3 times and downloaded "Let Me Sign" by Rob Pattinson. LOL! My family mention they were sick of hearing about it so for me right now it's kind of discouraging. :-( I'm kind of bummed to have obsessions (this series,Harry Potter, videogames etc.) and have no one to chat with meaningfully with on them! (Sure me and my dad see the Potter movies together but we talk about it maybe the week leading up to and after seeing the movie.) So does anyone feel this way about an obsession. Sure I SHOULDN'T GIVE A DAMN but it IS hard. :-(

I love my obsessions. Sometimes I feel sad there's no one to talk to about them, but the feeling never lasts long because when I'm thinking of stories relating to the obsessions, I can be in my own little world. :D It's fun to dream about them too, so I don't really need to talk to people about them all the time. I'm usually too busy thinking up stories anyway.

Experience taught me to control myself when talking about my interests and I also learned to recognize when others get bored or annoyed with it. Best thing is to join some fan sites where you can discus these things with people that are just as interested and informed as you.

The funny thing is people that talk incessantly about fashion or their job get away with it - I imagine these topics are considered more "serious" or "normal" areas of interest.

Everyone gets tired of hearing about Jon and Kate, Twilight, I could talk all day about space and middle ages but I dont.

my sensory based obsessions (due to my sensory integration disorder, a part of my autism certain things relax me or otherwise make me feel happy) are straps, blood pressure cuffs, tight warm things and places, deep pressure, being mummy wrapped, tight hugs, lead aprons, latex, PVC, rubber, silky, neoprene, nylon, rubberized nylon, slobbery kisses, leather, sticky mud, clay, quicksand anything of the likes.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

It's a bit annoying I can't to anyone at school about my obsessions, but I don't really mind. I can talk to people about them on forums and IM. If I really want to talk to someone verbally, I can go on Skype. I hate using Skype though.

I'm just fine since I found fandoms. Now I have fans, it's awesome. (I do some art, but mostly I write.)

zeldapsychology, I've read all the Twilight books, willing to discuss them if you want. Haven't seen the movie though.

I'm very happy with my obsessions - After two and a half solid years, I'm still a hardcore fan of Hellsing and Trinity Blood.

My obsessions make me happy and a cure for boredom. Watching Ben 10 makes me happy even though no one shares my love for it. I need more 10 year old friends.
I've got other obsessions that other people like, like photography and music.
