I know there have been a few post's and topic's about getting a new symbol, but none of them were ever really complete. It's not that the current symbol is bad, but i really dont like to be thought of as a puzzle peice :? Now alot of the idea's i read were really focusing around having an "A" in the picture, but it would have a different line that link the letter in the middle ( such as a squigly, lighting bolt, dotted, ect... ), i like that, but im sure there are other's out there whom have an artist mind-set ( sadly i don't, mine is more engineering and technology, spacial stuff ), that might have a different prespective? now it's not to say that i dont want people to reply, but i would like to come up with a symbol, hopefully within at least 1-10 pages of replies, i only want this because, i have noticed every other topic that went past a certain number of pages in replie ended up being abandond

So any replies are welcome, and pictures are wlcomed even more :)

a big fluffy cat....with many different breeds in it,to show the spectrum.
is just an excuse to have a cat as something really.it should be a spectrum logo.
those who like the puzzle will never change it,it's an 'autism community' thing, more so than 'autistic community'.

I'm with KOR. Let's get a cat. Fluffy and purring and soothing.

If this forum changes its logo to a cat, 4chan will start yapping how people with AS are copying their trends. You know how much 4chan loves its cats.

Dussel---I love your symbol!! !

I would have no trouble using that symbol for things I am involved in that discuss AS. It seems perfect.

I am all for Dussel's symbol, that looks great, and it displays great variety! Nice Job! :D

I like it but I think it has a bit too much in it. I like minimalism. I also think it should be 'autistic' rather than 'asperger'. You don't want to leave anyone out. And if you wanted a logo on something small you wouldn't be able to read it.
I like the idea of a cat. I'm good at drawing cats, so I might play around with a few ideas.

The various characters and colours just kills my visual processing with Dussel's, not to mention that there's no Autism in it.

I like the puzzled puzzle piece (barring the colours); I have it on my medical necklace.

I had an idea a long time ago...not really an "autism" symbol really, but just something for the spectrum in general. Basically, I thought it would make a cool tattoo, if I ever decide to get one ;)

This was my original idea: http://i42.tinypic.com/10pcyfk.gif

But on a whim, I decided to try something else, and I really like how it came out:

Image

These are both rough drafts, but you get the idea. I tried to go for a bit of symbolism here...the primary light color spectrum being the most obvious; the spectrum itself shaped like a sun with rays shining outward (I didn't intentionally try to rip off the "anti-drug" campaign, I hope it doesn't come off that way); the "NEURODIVERSITY" going in an endless circle, hard to tell where it begins and where it ends. I also thought the "RGB" aspect would be a fun nod to the "nerd syndrome" label, hope nobody minds.

Also, was kind of hard to get it to not look like a gay rainbow @_@

Anyway, just an idea, if anybody wants to run with it, use it as an avatar, redraw it in Illustrator, whatever, feel free.

The text in SabbraCadabra's version is very hard to read. If we would stay with this version, I would suggest either to place the text below or on on of the sides of the symbol using a readable typeface.
