No "gray area", just "black/white"

I talked to my AS diagnosed friend and she mentioned to me that i was "too black and white" and that i had no "gray area" about how i classify people.

I am at least fair; i do not judge people of what color their skin is, what music they like or other irrational things like that - i judge people of what they do.

Example: if a girl talks to me when i am out in a bar/club (the few times i am actually there), i try to remain neutral and will TRY to have a conversation with her.

That is, untill she does something stupid like start talking about how she love nazism or pulls up a cigarette.

I cannot respect people who do something stupid like that, they do not deserve any respect and i cannot even consider having some kind of relationship with people like that - even if it just means keep sitting next to them for 5 more minutes.

So - i ask people like that to leave and classify them as idiots. I cant bare to be in the same room as people that i cannot respect because of what they did.

Same thing goes for touching food. I saw that episode of "Big Bang Theory" tonight, the episode where that girl touch sheldons onion rings and we brought that up too. I have large issues with that and i think it is REALLY disrespectful to touch other peoples food once it hit their plate!

Exactly why is this so wrong? I cannot stay open minded to people who do stupid and/or disrespectul things. Why should i even consider giving these "people" (and i use that term VERY loosely) a second chance?

Give me a good reason.

(Note: I cant stand smoking, i hate political and religious extremists. Period. Those things are NOT up for discussion.)

I have without question done my share of black and white thinking, and people who know me have said i did it. I refuse to make friends with people I cannot respect, and I have an impossible time respecting people to me who come off as ignorant, intolerant, or just plain stupid. I am not going to go into the details, but i have gotten in my share of social problems because of this issue.

The food thing not so sure i do have it.

so ... why would you want to 'classify' people
and then ... only 'friend' of 'foe' ?

remember: any human being may be glad and grateful to reach a double figure count of the first category, in all their lives, ...

people might just surprise you , once you get over your intolerance of people being...

but if you MUST : ask your more 'open' aspie girlfriend if she might imagine as much 'classes' & 'categories' for you as possible - you wont be capable, it seems to me

Well i dont want to classify people. I rate them as either worthy of my respect or not.

Example: At my last job as a CMS programmer (i really want to write the name of the company here but decided intelligent people to use their search skills instead), this 40+ "sales" guy used racial slurs and showed intollerance to "some" people. I REALLY tried to work with him since i needed the job but i couldnt keep it up, and in the end all my respect went out the window and i saw him as a ret*d not worth any respect at all.

And btw, its not "friend" or "foe", its more "acceptable" and "not acceptable". It is not that i go around and dislike everyone: maby 9 out of 10 people i meet i can work with - the rest can go and f themselves.

This is like the only thing on this forums I can relate to oddly.
I hate every teenager I don't know.
Every single one.
Not as much adults, because most adults are far more mature, but teenagers I have no sympathy for.
If I don't know them, I hate them.

Another thing is crime.
I believe in an eye for an eye.
If some punk goes and murders someone, they should be killed too.
I have no sympathy for criminals, and if I ever get robbed at gun point, I swear, I would completely destroy them before they can pull the trigger.

I know how you mean, though. As a young teen I HATED other young people, because they were so taken up with s**t that didn't matter.

The sad thing is... I'm a teenager too.
I hate stupid teenagers that only think about Sex and Parties...
which is more than half of them...

People who use terms like 'religious extremist' that generically, almost always mean 'anyone of faith', which makes the speaker him or her self guilty of intellectual extremism - and your hateful intolerance of the very notion of smoking further proves that you make absolute snap judgments based on whatever you have been told by the popular media is the truth. Your friend is quite right about you - you think only in black and white terms. Everything is either good or bad, right or wrong, no room for absorbing new information, or growing as an individual. Just a closed concrete mind in which everything has already been decided and will never change.

but giving it some thought I can understand why they respond with such hostility, the immigrants they take in to the country are placed in segregated locations where they continue to feel alienated and unwanted, the native swedes refuse to blend with other cultures and the clash become so great the immigrants execute different acts like honor killings on Arabic girls and sometimes kill swedes in the act the population can only respond with disgust and anger toward these groups.
But it's the countries own fault, that is what happens when you want to appear neutral and helpful but doesn't want to have anything to do with the people they take in, it's all PR tricks and then they expect these huge masses of immigrants and refugees to sit silently in a corner?

You do think in Black and white. Willard is right, there is only right and wrong in your eyes, and you don't see past the right/wrong. In thinking like that, you only limit yourself. You limit your thinking.

You can have your moral standpoint but

There is more to a smoker than him smoking a cigarette.

There is more to a religious person than his religious beliefs.
