What does this mean? I was randonly browsing Google and found this subject, what I've read so far sounds interesting but some of them define it as different things.

Is there really a such thing as 'many sleves within yourself?'...

What's the Shakespeare quote??

"For one man in his life may present many faces ???"

Are we not child, spouse, parent, lover, curmudeon ???

I'm really fascinated with multiple personalities I'm not sure if this refers to the same thing or not. I've read accounts where the different personalities can see each other in a room and will actually have discussions to decide which one will come out to handle a situation, all without the conscious knowledge of the core personality. They find that people who develop disassociative personality disorder do so to cope with horrific childhood abuse. It really amazes me what the human mind is capable of and the concept of "self" and all that.

I am not sure. There are many theories on this, from regular psychiatry (eg. multiple personality disorder), alternative psychology (eg. psychosynthesis/voice dialogue), religion, new age, philosphy, etc. I am not sure whether multipel selves is universal, as some theorists believe, or occurs in some people, or is a deviation (as psychiatry views it).
