What is it, and how does it differ from NT intelligence?

Is there a test that can detirmine what kind of intelligence you have?

I don't need no stinkin' test!

What I mean is I don't need some test to tell me how smart I am; I spend my days analyzing business history, for my own business..to figure out where they screwed up, so I won't; you'd be surprised how obvious it is half the time.

Dude, intelligence isn't just academics; it's street smarts. Academics waved bye-bye to me years ago; I learn best by studying the subjects I'm interested in, and at my own disposal.

I'm horrible at math, and need a calculator on me at all times. I aced English, but I'm not good at the subject( even though I'm a spelling and grammar ace), I love history, not very good at science....

But I understand business....it comes naturally to me. I love economics like you have no idea.

It all comes very handy to me.

There's no such thing as "aspie intelligence." Aspie IQ ranges from average/normal to genius. But I haven't seen any evidence that overall intelligence among aspies is any different than NTs. There are certain cognitive abilities that are strong in many aspies, but until there's some kind of proof that NTs don't also have those cognitive abilities, I see no reason to accept the idea of aspie intelligence.

Politically incorrect opinion, I'm sure, but I'm interested in accuracy, not in political agendas.

Apparantly 'we' have a different intelligence to that on NT's. I never said anything about being smarter, although apparantly people with AS have on average, a higher IQ.

But the idea of aspie intelligence is starting to gain credibility in my mind; I am IQ 120 - 140, yet I seem to be rather unintelligent to be fully honest.

It all depends on how one would measure intelligence.

There's the theory of multiple intelligences (Gardner, 1983).

See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_ ... elligences

An online test for multiple intelligences can be taken here:

I wonder if there could be a kind of "trade off" relationship between intrapersonal (myself smart) and interpersonal (people/social smart) "intelligences".

I always get a maximum score in the intrapersonal category and my interpersonal score is always low.

Perhaps introverts in general have better intrapersonal intelligence because they're better at introspection?

Perhaps extroverts in general have better interpersonal intelligence because they're naturally more outgoing?

I wonder about extraverts who score low in the intrapersonal category?
That could happen in theory.

Maybe so called "NTs" are more "people smart" than "self smart"?

Perhaps being super-aware of one's self comes at a price of being less aware of other people?

I believe those who score low Intra-P and high Inter-P are those people who exist almost purely as a Super Ego(did I get that one right? The self that is viewed by others)

I'd rather be an aspie than such a creature. Thanks for the link btw.

My scores
Kineasthetic(Physical): 17/25
Linguistic(Word): 18/25
Logical(Math): 11/25 (wut?)
Interpersonal(Other People): 16/25
Intrapersonal(Yourself): 9/25
Musical(Music): 19/25'
Visual(Picture): 13/25
Nature: 13/25

Not what I expected. For one thing, I can't play a instrument of any kind, and I'm certainly not that bad at math...

My scores
For anyone who cares:

Kineasthetic(Physical): 18/25
Linguistic(Word): 22/25
Logical(Math): 22/25
Interpersonal(Other People): 6/25 8O "ouch"
Intrapersonal(Yourself): 25/25
Musical(Music): 23/25
Visual(Picture): 21/25
Nature: 23/25

Again this is just a bit of fun, not to be taken really seriously.
Mine probably flucatuate from day to day anyway.
I just thought that the intra/inter personal scores were interesting, so I wondered about a sort of "trade off" relationship.

I know my own mind and prefer working alone to working in a team.

I just wondered what the opposite of a "Super Ego" is (I'd clearly qualify).

That's okay.

Just noticed that your inter is higher than your your intra personal score.

Maybe I need to rethink my "trade-off" hypothesis...
It's never a good idea to formulate a hypothesis just based on one set of results... :?

Or am I "paying" for my other abilities by having a low interpersonal score?

What about personal bias in the test, perhaps I perform better socially than I'm aware?

Who's the best judge of how socially skilled you are?
You or other people?
