Since being on this website and knowing an aspie (my grandma's partner) I find that we are very skeptical, down to earth people yet some beleve in UFOs... I would understand if they believed there is life on other planets, because it's said that the universe is infinite which would mean infinite planets therefor obviously out of the inifinite planets there would be life on other planets,

why is it just assumed that there is a such thing as UFOs though? that's like saying you beleive in unicorns, there's no evidence that there is a such thing as UFOs, I mean we don't have any spaceships; so why is it assumed that other planets do? are the people who believe in UFOs fantasists or just dellusional? And why are they stereotyped so much? Like why are they green, how can anyone have an idea what they look like if nobody has ever seen one, and why do they always want to overtake our world? It's stupid really... even writing this I feel stupid for mentioning such crap, I mean the life on other planets could be similar to us, civil etc.

It's funny how what people don't understand, they are ignorant and naive towards it and make there own judgements, if life from another planet did end up on our world (not saying on spaceships) I bet they would be seen as a threat, it's unfair how people can fantasize about these things yet keep there minds open, instead being single minded

can sombody tell me why so many of them do believe?

Yes I have seen them at several points in my life. My parents have too.

Plus we're the ones visiting other planets, and from the way our governments are it would be us that would want to overtake there 'world' not the other way around haha.

Ironic.

I believe in UFO's because I've seen two (and no, they did not behave anything like aircraft).

I was a little scared of UFO's as a kid, thanks to the X Files.
Now I really don't care. I think my sister still believes in them.

Planes have flashy lights, how could you just assume it was a green alien on a spaceship? and why would it be in our atmosphere if it did not land, because if it did land it would be all the news, don't kid yourselves.

UFO’s are not something you can believe in or not believe in. Anything a person sees in the sky and is unable to identify is a UFO, even if is a bird or balloon or something. Now if you would have said, “why do people believe aliens are visiting the earth?” that would be another story entirely.

Yes. I have seen unidentified flying objects plenty of times, often asking a friend nearby, "What is that -- an airplane or a jet plane?" or, "What kind of bird is that? I can't identify it." =)

As for aliens... I know a lot of believers. I am skeptical. Until I have proof, I'm a nonbeliever! Simple as that.

Why do you believe that MOST people with AS believe in UFO's? (You obviously mean alien visitation/Area 51 nonsense).

I don't, and I happen to be a keen astronomer. The night sky and all what is visible in it, is my hobby. I would argue that since most Aspies have highly critical, logical and analytical minds, it is more likely that most DO NOT believe in UFO's.

Come to think of it, I don't even believe in the Drake equation, it's childlike unscientific bs. Which only goes to prove that even with a PhD, some people can talk utter garbage which finds its way into college course work and text books as though it was scientific fact.

The evolution of intelligent Life on Earth is a bit of a fluke and would require an almost impossible set of circumstances; the ingredients for creating life however are fairly common everywhere, so life may exist elsewhere but it might be only microbes or basic animals.

Why do most people with AS believe in UFOs?

why do people make generalizations that have no basis in fact?

By UFO you mean unidentified flying objects? I believe in those because I see some when I go out at night. Sometimes I can identify them as planes or helicopters but not always. Very mystifying!

UFOs are secret government spacecraft, originally invented by the Nazis but also used by US intelligence.

Interesting, I have found the Rare Earth Hypothesis to be more plausible than any other hypothesis about extraterrestrial life, but I'm not certain, it all comes down to a matter of opinion in the end, about which idea makes more sense to one. I am skeptic about aliens and UFOs (popularly related to alien spacecrafts) nevertheless I find the issue quite interesting to get into.

I beleive in them because I have seen real pictures of them on TV and heard real stories about them.
