I usually like movie sequels better than the original movies, contrary to the popular opinions; how about everybody else?
I've even heard the old line "sequels are just made so Hollywood can make money". Um...yeah...so what's the reason to produce the original film? Just to show off some artistic work? I think not.
sometimes it IS to show off some artistic work. remember, movies ARE made outside hollywood sometimes. there are even countries outside of the USA, and some of these make a movie, every now and then.
the norwegian movie "pathfinder" was nominated for oscars in the 80's, it was made basically w no budget, out in the snow, and had in mind solely to promote lappish culture and awareness. kickass movie. nobody became rich off it.
luckily no sequels were made because...... they told the story, and money was not an issue
"i can still kick your ass, and do it for artistic integrity!"
