Wrong Planet - the RP group (open; ooc/sign-up)

Hey there Wrong Planet!

I have not seen many of these threads in this forum and I'd like to investigate the possibility of starting one such thread. This RP group would be the starting point for a whole range of different RPs, coordinated in this thread. People who are interested in joining, will sign-up here (application form still to come, pending interest) and join or start an IC (in character) thread. Though I will not allow Mar(t)y Sue (i.e. overpowered) characters, pretty much any other character you can imagine will be allowed. Clones of existing characters will not be allowed (unless you created it) though you may claim that the character you created comes from a pre-existing (fictional) universe (e.g. Dwego from Hobbiton, Middle Earth). The first RP will be an introduction of the characters by means of (probably) a quest of some sort. In view of the nature of this site, I was also thinking of adding a little autistic twist to the RPs (i.e. NPCs, questlines, etc...) and probably my own character, too.

So, remember, anything goes. As long as it does not decrease the quality of gameplay for others or (significantly) break the laws of physics (though that's less important, as long as the lawbreaking is well explained).

There, feel free to post comments, criticism, suggestions and whatever. Once I get a handful of interested people, I'll throw up an app and throw in ideas for a first quest or something.

I am here. Not sure how to begin as it is very undefined but how about this:

You awaken in a dark room with a splitting headache. You cannot remember how you got there, where "there" is now even who you are. The only light is a bit of white glow coming from under a door a bit more then arms reach away, the only noise is a mechanical noise, perhaps AC, from overhead. The light from under the door is blocked suddenly and you hear footsteps. Someone is outside the door but you have no idea who they could be.

"Gulath nar duma? Duma? Duma nar galda!"

What the hell language was that you think. As you try to stand you realize for the first time that you are bound with your hands behind your back and about the ankles. Sounds like the start of a great day.

What do you do?

sounds like a good idea, but can you explain the setting a bit more? (as in, what epoch, genre, "universe", etc...)

Here is a short scene that might be cool:

[You are hiding behind a crate when you hear a conversation starting between two of the strange merchants.]
Kiy: So, Glen, remember when in-(voice is muffled)
Glen: Idiot, do you want them to find out who we are? Or are you starting to get careless about the words you use? Whichever one it is, you better get wiser, or else I will have to kill you!
Kiy: Sorry, but I just feel a bit stiff.
Glen: Look, you are not to talk about the place. That would quickly blow our cover. Just be quiet and hope that we will leave with all five of us.
Kiy: Alright. Those bumbling professors will be lost and we will have rid the world of the only sane survivor of the outer beings.
[Footsteps are going away from the location. You take this opportunity to run to the Scholars. You know they are in danger, even if they don't.]
