Hey everyone! I'm curious about whether there is a difference in keyboard typing methods between NT people and Aspies. I type the traditional way, but an Aspie that I know types by poking the keyboard with his index finger. How do you type?

The traditional way. Typing came very naturally to me when we learned it in school. I hardly even had to think about it: I just looked at the keyboard diagram and went to work. This was about twenty years ago, and we learned on electric typewriters. That taught me to be careful and precise, because the teacher could hear the distinctive sound of the correction ribbon being used. And if you used it too much, she would march over in front of your desk and lecture you in front of everyone. Being singled out as the center of attention was horrifying for me, so I became a top-notch typist very quickly.

Computers have made me sloppier, I admit, because it's so easy to correct mistakes. But I think I express myself better with them, since it's so easy to re-read, rethink, and edit what I've typed.

I use 8 fingers. 1st two fingers on each hand do letters and numbers, thumbs do space, pinkies do shift keys, punctuation, caps etc. I don't use my ring fingers at all, feels weird and unnatural to me, and I've tried many times to incorporate them.

When I was younger, my mom tried to make me learn the regular way, but I hated it and did badly.
Today, I just dance around the keyboard with both index fingers.

I don't get how to play this.

(Subtle hint that this is in the game forum.)

The traditional way. Only I don't use my left hand for the z and x as should.

its time to start posting something I don't really use the camiloneto5 it's time I start typing something here I don't really know what I'm doing bu if you are really pleased I can do something about it I'mn really right now just typing whatever comes to my head, so don't expect something coherent ahem.

So... after this exercise of writing fast anything, I realized that I never use my right index or my right littlefinger, but otherwise it seems ok. I n a competition we did at school, I remember that I was the fastest typer in my classroom.

I use all my digits on my left hand at some point, and all except the pinky on my right hand. But, primarily, I use the index and middle fingers on both hands (plus thumbs for the spacebar). The other fingers have minor supporting roles.

I don't need to look at the keyboard most of the time, but sometimes my brain buffers a little slowly and I have to peek for a quick refresher. My fingers definitely don't stay in the home row, and I usually type at about 90 wpm.

Traditional. I don't know where the letters are unless my two fore fingers are on f and j. I have the iPad and use it for email and since have gotten better at hunt and peck but at first it was very awkward not knowing where the letters are visually.

Dear Albirea, First, great idea for a poll!
I type traditionally when I have a keyboard, but on my iPad I hunt and peck.
