Got MORE rain yesterday.....whee!

The last I heard, twenty cars were destroyed by that wildfire....our sudden rain put it out, thankfully......I do not believe that there were any fatalities......hope not .

I am so enjoying the overcast and coolness and dampness.....I Shall pretend I am in an Oregonian forest!

Oh well, I have come to this. I need walking aids, like the one in the picture. Some of you may already know that I am an exceptionally tall man for my age, I am 2 meters and I weigh 100+ kg. No wonder I'm suffering from ... is the word osteoarthritis? The 4x4 walker didn't cost me a penny, the society pays the bill.

Sorry to hear that Krabo. I recall that the world's tallest man had back problems and the photos show him with a stick.

I am glad that you have financial help for your medical needs.......many people in America have to fight and argue

with government assistance for any and everything !

I'm sorry to hear you need that, Krabo. I'm glad you (both of us really) live in welfare society though.

Thank you all for your concern. -- Sylkat, yes I knew that much of how things are in the US. These remote corners in the world may not be the best places to live, but one things is sure: you get medical help when you need it. Nonbody asks you any question of insurance card.

I see. I have made incredible vocabulary mistakes. How can it be? Of course it is different to say something in a language not your own, but I must consentrate every time I type any word. I check them, recheck, re-recheck. It takes time. I would like to say something in my own language. Perskeles!

That doesn't translate on my programme. Doesn't inspire my confidence in said programme!

'East Of Eden' is a book by Steinbeck.

Your signature is quite clever.

Ah, the first Finnish word I learned minus the 2 's'! Picked it up from some book decades ago  My second word: kilpikonna. The two should never meet.

Latvia and Finland were the last two European nations to adopt Christianity, Finland in the 1150s and Latvia a hundred years later. Our language didn't know dirty words, or sacred words, for that matter, so we took them from our neighbors. Latvian language has been a fruitful source. The most used Finnish dirty word, perkele, has its origins in the Latvian deity Perkunas.

Interesting. And from what I understand, Finland is still quite a religious country.

Compared to the rest of us heathens. :P
