Martin Luther believed that Satan, in the flesh, appeared to him.

He wrote that he threw an inkwell at him.

Traditional Japanese houses were made out of wood and paper.

Just tried that. Doesn't actually work.

The Great Sphinx was re-carved.

No one knows what the original appearance was.

And not only once. There are several locations in Europe claiming to display an original Lutheran inkblot. Many of them are genuine, in fact.

During her own funeral, the body of St. Christina The Astonishing levitated from its coffin to the ceiling of the church, whence the priest officiating the funeral had to order her to come down.

She landed on the altar.

She was not a saint at that time.

She has not been formally canonized and is also known as 'Blessed Christina The Astonishing' and 'Christina Mirabilis'. She lived for 53 more years after the aforementioned funeral.

Her story probably includes the earliest near-death experience on record. Interesting. Thank you for the introduction.

Dear Krabo,

I am glad that she is as interesting to you as to me.....

Please Google her, the whole story is fascinating, even if a bit, uh, astonishing!

Oh yes, this is what I already did. I've been extremely interested in NDE's ever since I heard of this scientist (was he physicist or neurosurgeon, can't remember) whose firm opinion it is that the phenomenon probably is more than fantasy. I think I've seen all video clips on the subject in YouTube over the past six months. There is something in it.

I spoke to a patient years ago, whose experience was most convincing, and really could not be 'explained' away.

Anyhow, 'Mourning Brooches' made by bereaved women in England were made by crocheting or knotting the loved one's hair into elaborate floral patterns.

They were really lovely, and can be seen in some museums.

Prince wrote The Bangles' hit single "Manic Monday."

Singer Huey Lewis appears in Back to the Future as one of the school's talent show judges.

Elijah Wood appears in Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl" video.

During the filming of Dirty Dancing, Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze actually didnt like each other at all, a lot of the fighting between them was real.
