A combination of biological terminology and Doctor Who technobabble. But it makes sense. Because:
1. Clones have a experiential gap no matter what. It's not like you can just cram data in. Not only that, but is the clone the person, or just a divergent copy?
2. Telomeric degeneration is mild BS, but old cells have a problem with telomeres. That, and DNA errors hasten the death of clones (witness Dolly).
