Early on in the climb, Guinan sped up a bit more so that she and Aelkai were even. She noticed the girl wearing the cloak over her suit and had an idea. "Would you be able to put these pokeballs inside your cloak?" Guinan asked Aelkai. "I mean, what if I drop one when I reach for a handhold so I don't float away later?"

"Alight!" Aelkai smiled, and carefully put Guinan's pokeballs in her cloak, wherein the Pokemon joined in on discussing random topics with Enye's Gardevoir, Gallade, Lucario, and Skitty.
Jian, meanwhile, was doing deep thinking about whether she should, could, or would explain to Aelkai that even if Ia was at the station, the ghost girl might not be able to go back home with them.
Enye, meanwhile, was pondering how she might care for Aelkai as a star girl, and briefly considered going back to their magical realm to see Ia once their adventure was over. There was something that she felt she needed to remember, something about Ia, something sad, but she couldn't seem to recall what it was.

Yes, there are airlocks along the pillars. They are mostly full of machinery and structural components with a few elevators and staircases running through them though, so the airlocks are few and far between.

Also, there is a network of catwalks and ladders around the pillars so the climbing would not be very treacherous most of the time. The treacherous part is when our characters traverse a part of the pillar that has taken damage because they will have to climb up a bunch of twisted metal. There are indeed no ropes, but that shouldn't be a problem on the catwalk and ladder network.

"Eyne,"Laura tentatively started. "While we're just climbing, could you say....exactly what happened to you? Not that I don't like bright, shiny, sparkly people and things, but... Um.." She trailed off shyly. She didn't want to sound mean, but was a little worried about why Eyne looked like a shiny ghost. She was also trying to climb as fast as she could.

Enye softly floated up to Laura and landed on her shoulder, shining gently. I used the White Star spell to heal Aelkai. She explained. That is why I am a star child now. I had to heal Aelkai...because I could not heal...who was it? Someone important... She trailed off vaguely and alighted off of Laura's shoulder, shimmering insubstantially as if trying very hard to remember before perching on Aelkai's head.
"She can't remember Ia." Jian whispered to Laura. "Ia died when she transformed into her Remalek form unexpectedly, so even if Enye can't remember her, my sister, perhaps unknowingly, vowed to help Aelkai to make up for it. Apparently Ia is at this station, wandering around as a ghost or something, according to Aelkai." Jian looked as if she wasn't sure what to believe.
"We are going to find Ia!" Aelkai insisted happily. "I can feel her! She is super close now! We are almost there."

"What is Ia like?" Guinan asked as she crossed another catwalk.

"She is lots of fun, but likes teasing people a lot and playing tricks. She is super good at hiding, too, so when we play, she sneaks up behind me and tackle hugs me." Aelkai reminisced fondly.
"I think she got her habit of messing with people from me." Jian admitted, grinning sheepishly. "Although...she won't say what's troubling her, since she's sometimes quiet or timid, so I often have to ask her multiple times if she needs anything. She probably got that from Enye, come to think of it. It makes sense that she's like both of us, since we raised her ourselves."

Laura nodded. "Right... So you, Jian and Ia are sisters... And Alekai is...?" She was admittedly a little confused.

(Gah! With all this Dimentional Pen confusion, I completley forgot about Hoopa! Orrrr... Eh, I'll connect the Dimensional Pen to Hoopa.

Also, with Laura being picked by the Gardians of the Lake... That was just because I thought they were cool! It wasn't until a few minutes ago I realized how perfectly that fits with their Pokedex entries.... Or Uxie's, at least.)

"Enye and I basically adopted Aelkai and Ia once we all started living in the same place in our world." Jian clarified, clearly thinking about fond memories. "So, no, Ia isn't our sister. As to how we met Aelkai and Ia...well...it's...complicated."

Guinan chuckled as she heard about Ia's playful antics. "It sounds like you created your own little family," she commented in between climbing ladders. "You chose each other, so that's really special."

"Yes...I guess we have..." Jian muttered, sounding almost surprised, as if having a family had never been something she had really considered.
"We are a super kitty family!" Aelkai exclaimed excitedly.
"What are you on about now?" Jian asked distractedly. "Hold on tight, right?"
Mew. Enye smiled at the joyful expression on Aelkai's face.
"Ia once made all of the books in the Bookstore float around, remember?" Aelkai said after awhile.
"Yes. That was fun." Jian looked at Enye carefully, but the star girl had no reaction whatsoever to Ia's name.

(Ia sounded familiar.. I looked her up, and i found this Ia! Hatsune the Xerneas and Ia the ghost. Heh...



Calem stayed completely quiet, awkwardly listening Jian, Laura and Gunnian's conversation taking place directly above him.

"We are almost up there, right?" Laura asked, not wanting to seem annoying.

(Hehe, I am in the midst of writing something for this scene. Will be able to post in roughly an hour. )

[I got Ia's name from Ai, the Japanese word for love, and just reversed it.]

Mike listens to the conversation with interest, mostly as a distraction from thinking too hard about what they are doing. They pass a sign saying that they are now 200 meters high, the gravity is 0.8G which is a noticeable difference but only barely. He resists the urge to look down and despite being quite exhausted keeps climbing the ladder. There is a damaged portion of the pillar up ahead, which might be a problem. "We are about a fifth of the way there, this is one gigantic station."

Laura sighed, seeing the sign, but trudged on. Suprisingly, she diddn't feel tired at all, but then again, that's just the way she is. "Wow, Nexus is so huge!" She said in awe.
