Do they have "Secret Santa" in your country, Skilpadde?

Hmmm.....potentially tricky territory here. I didn't know she was unpopular over here. If she is, it could be that a small percentage of people have a problem with her marrying a black man, or with her size, but those things of themselves wouldn't add up to much. More significantly perhaps, a fair proportion of people (mostly males, but not exclusively), believe women can't be funny, at least in public. As Ms. French was something of a trailblazer in this area, maybe she has copped a lot of the fallout from this?
I'm not very well-placed to comment really - I've never found any of her generation, or later ones, male or female, very funny as public performers. The last person I rated as a comic genius was Peter Cook, and he died over two decades ago.

Yeah, well, she divorced him, and married a white guy----so, that bunch can just get over themselves. Also, she lost about a 100 pounds (7 stone), so that should shut that bunch, up, too!

Yeah, we've had that problem, over here----with the older generation.....

I think she's a friggin' GENIUS----her, AND Jennifer Saunders, are BRILLIANT!!

Yeah, unfortunately, I'm not a fan of things like "Princess Bride"----as much as I would LOVE to be, because it's heralded as "comic genius". I bet you're also a fan of "Monty Python"? As much as I appreciate John Cleese, and can recognize HIS genius, I don't like "Monty Python", or "Fawlty Towers". I know----I know----most people think that's sinful! LOL Also, as much as I LOVE Rowan Atkinson, I'm not a fan of "Blackadder"----I AM a fan of Richard Curtis, though (I just wish he wouldn't put so much sex and cussing, in his stuff).
