"May I hug you?" Aelkai asked Q in a genuine tone. The expression on Q's face was priceless, and he almost looked as if he wanted to be anywhere but there.

"Aw, that's so cute," Q said in a mocking tone as he moved to pat Aelkai on the back. "Q, that's a child reaching out to you!" Guinan protested. "Don't you have a kid somewhere in the universe?"

Q seemed to relax slightly but did not reply.

(OOC: Lillikoi and Mikeman, don't let Q hold up your plans or anything.)

Lilli's eyes turned to sparkles.
If it wasn't magic, then what was it?

Wait, what. They looked up, and instantly recognized the balding, male-looking, human-loooking, pissed-looking form talking to Guinan.

Their eyes lit up. It was that fun douchebag from before! They tilted their head. But what was he doing there?

As they watched the cackling and zapping and Laura protesting and general tomfoolery that came as a part of the presence of the fun douchebag, they began to wonder who exactly is this person and why, why would this trollish, jerkass being choose them of all people to summon here?

Other than hijinx and amusement and general tomfoolery, was there some.. some greater purpose as to why he had gathered them here? Aside from
a game, a petty messing of some individidual that had funky powers, was there some deeper meaning that they were meant to discover? Some hidden truth, beyond its silly surface, that they were meant to gain from this adventure?

They thought of the times where it had not been silly...

The discussions they'd had with Mike and Laura... about the war, about Laura's memories...
the abandoned Pokemon... Gristle's plight... their reconciliation with Magia...

...and they began to wonder, in a faint sparking thought,

what if we're here to solve each other's problems?

And what if, that thought continued, what if, within the chaos,

there was a tiny hint of a l t r u--

Suddenly their thoughts were cut off by the word 'hug.'
"Hug? Hug?" They glanced about wildly looking for the source of the word.

And then they spotted it. Wayyy above.

"Oh! Jackwagon!" they said excitedly. They snapped their fingers and instantly appeared down where the others were.

And stopping, smiling warmly,
hands folded primly in front of them, they nodded at the Highly-Enterntaining Jackwagon and began.
"I have a proposal, may we make that a group hug--"

Before they could finish their sentence, a body dropped from the sky, causing Q to flinch, Lilli to jump, and Gristle to scream like a banshee, before landing neatly bridal-style in Lilli's arms.

Kiki kicked back with their arms behind their head and grinned.
"Well hey there, little me, how's the party comin'?"

When Alekai asked to hug Q, Laura snickered at Q's expression. "Wooow, you're afraid to hug a kid? Or is it that your afraid of... whatever Eyne was, and what her and Jian are now?"

"A group hug? How is that gonna happen on a ladder? If we wern't on one, I would have sent Riku after Q the second he got here--..." Her complaints were cut short by Kiki landing in Lilli's arms. Calem facepalmed. Darn this guy is annoying... He thought.

"Little...you? Do you and Lilli have some kinda connection going on?" Laura asked, curiously.

After Q appears Mike says "Q, please go away or at least make yourself useful by helping us take back the station." Q replies "Why should I care about this insignificant station? This isn't even the only Nexus Station and you aren't even the only Mike to visit that Pokemon ridden world. Do you really think that in the vastness of the multiverse that you and your insignificant battles mean anythin-" Mike interrupts, "Wait, another Michael Watt in the Pokemon world?! How is that possible?" He thinks for a moment, "Wait, is that the gravitational anomaly we detected in orbit? Do you have something to do with this?" Q smugly replies, "That's for me to know and you to find out." and Mike simply responds with an annoyed glare.

When Lilli teleported to join the group it made Mike jump. I don't think I will ever get used to that. When Lilli suggested a group hug he replied "Uhh... I'd rather not. Also Laura, you probably better not let any Pokemon out of their balls in space." Upon seeing the person fall into Lilli's arms he jumps ans says "What in the heck? Who is that?"

"I know, that's why I'm gonna spare him for now." Laura explained, when Mike told her not to let her Pokemon out. When Q said that he might have something to do with how the second Mike got there back home, she grinded her teeth, but started to climb faster. She really wasn't suprised, but still really annoyed at Q, how many people back home are there gonna be bugging her, asking her if she had anything to do with all of these otherworldly people showing up out of nowhere? And how was she gonna convincingly answer those questions? Laura was quietly thinking over the matter as she continued to climb, but Calem seemed more annoyed at Kiki's reapearance than Q's.

"Ooh! Does that mean that you are like us?" Alekai asked Kiki, grinning hugely. "We're all part of the same being, you know: I'm the child, Jian's the maiden, and Enye's the elder. There's more of us, of course." She added, as if she expected everyone to know about pan-symbiotic beings.
Then she turned back to Q. "Enye says that people like you are just big egos and that we need to ignore you so you'll go away. Is that true?" Enye chimed gently, laughing musically as she gave Q a "So there" sort of look. Q himself was clearly wondering if Aelkai had unintentionally insulted him, and if she had, what exactly to do about it.

"Uhhh, no." Kiki said to Aelkai.
"You could say we're beings from a divergent timeline?"

When Aelkai talked to Q again, Lilli's eyes danced with delight.
"I don't know what an ego is, but I think you're cool!" they gushed. They suddenly let go of Kiki, who fell to the ground with a yelp.
"Hey!" Kiki protested. "What was that for--"

As soon as Lilli dropped them, their eyes widened.
"Wait, you're a Q, aren't you?"

Bump.

Q glared at Aelkai, though he cracked a smile when Lily said he was "cool." He spoke to Aelkai, appearing above her and out of her reach this time. "Lots of mortal beings have egos. I just state the facts as I see them, from a broader point of view."

A bit later, Guinan spoke up. "I think Q's still here because he's lonely," she told Aelkai. "It's lonely at the top, isn't it, Q!"

Q laughed. "Not really," he snorted. "I can go anywhere, to any time. I can talk to anyone."

"You mean you can abduct anyone!" Guinan retorted. Then, her tone softened a fraction. "But in all the games and all the conversations, does anyone ever understand?"

"If I wanted understanding, I would ask another Q," Q scoffed. "Would you? Really? Even if they liked you, they're probably too busy with their own affairs," Guinan said, her tone rising again and the energy coming back into her eyes as she resumed climbing.

As Guinan left, Lilli remained and watched her walk away.

Then Lilli tilted their head.
"Do..."

They hesitated. Was that an appropriate question to ask? They weren't very good with these kind
of situations, and they had to tread carefully lest they offend somebody.

Their eyebrows creased together, their expression one of thought.
How would you phrase that?


...No, that was too direct.

"Um.."
Shoot, they already started talking.

Oh well, might as well go with it.
"Um..."

Their voice began to pick up pace and confidence.
"Er, this might be kind of a personal question, but..."

Their voice suddenly dropped.
"Um, do you have a family?" they said quietly.

As they listened, it was like listening to someone else talk.
They flinched at their words.

"I do," Guinan said amiably to Lily. "I was thinking of how grateful I am that my father is still alive, that we escaped from our destroyed world together." She paused, negotiating the pillar carefully. "Are you all right, Lily?" she asked, hearing the hesitation in Lily's voice.

"We have no family." Aelkai, Jian, and Enye all stated simultaneously, but then added, "Unless you count all three of us as a family, which might work."

Laura shruged. "All I have is my mom."

"I have a younger sister." Calem added.

Lilli paled for a second, startled.
"Oh... um yeah, I-I'm fine, yeah."

It took them a second to regain themselves.
"Well, uh, I've got a brother and sister." They smiled at Gristle, though their smile was slightly strained. "What about you?"

Gristle grinned fondly.
"Well I've got a big family, I've got a mom, a dad, a deadbeat uncle, and a little sister... who's... technically physically older than me, but that's a whole other story."
He laughed. "Oh yeah, we've also got a dog! A.. a psychic dog. ....Yeah."

Gristle then looked to Kiki.
"Well... my family is everyone." they said simply.
They looked down at their scarf and smiled. "Though.. the Expedition Society holds a special place in my heart."

A moment passed.

"Mm.. what about you, Q?" Lilli piped.

"The Expedition Scociety? I think I've played a game with them in it!" Laura chimed.
