I do rather think that the Arrakis ( Arrakian?) Sandworms are probably not going to ADD to lifeforms here on

Earth......They will probably do wonders for our over-population problem, though.

Can we send a couple to one of the larger ISIS camps?

When they are through with lunch, they will have all of that lovely sand to play in!

:D

Yes indeed.

Wouldn't it be exciting if a Sarlacc pit could open up next to an ISIS camp and swallow it up?

I thought they'd make a nice addition :( They sure would help out on the overpopulation problem.

I think we can do better than that, Sylkat. I think we can be generous enough to give every single ISIS camp (and al-Qaida camp as well) their very own worm. That should make for some very happy sandworms! :D

In America, every member of the football team which wins the Sperbowl receives a huge gold-and-diamond ring worth an average of $ 10,000.

What will those New Zealand rugby players get?

Congratulations, by the way.

Now there's something wrong with that. As if the NFL players need any more bonuses.

They get medals for winning the World Cup, along with a parade. Yep, medals. Plus bonuses on top of their regular salary, which isn't much. New Zealand sports players don't get paid anywhere near as much as athletes in the US or Europe. It comes with having such a small economy.

On the other hand, All Blacks captain Richie McCaw and head coach Steve Hansen are likely to be offered knighthoods once they retire. McCaw was offered one a few years ago, but knocked it back while he was still an active player. A few other retired players and coaches already have theirs.

She's so thoughtful to add to the biodiversity like that.

According to an article I've just read, members of the All Blacks team received $150,000 each for winning the competition, on top of the $7,500 per week they were paid for its duration. The same article suggests that the annual salary for a top New Zealand Rugby Union player is around $650,000, or $1,000,000+ with endorsements.

Doesn't sound too bad to me.

That'd be in NZ dollars. And yeah, the amounts themselves aren't that bad for the top players. For NZers that'd be Richie McCaw or Dan Carter. They're like the Cristiano Ronaldos or LeBron Jameses of their sport, but with much smaller salaries. Actually, I read an article that compares their salaries with that of 2013 OKC Thunder draft pick Steven Adams (also from NZ). Says a lot, really: same salaries but with vastly different profiles in their respective sports.
