I'll do neither. I don't like candy or chocolate [sugar makes me sick and depressed].

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Ever dress up for Halloween?

^No need to be sorry; from my point of view, I'm not missing out on anything since I prefer treats made with honey or maple syrup or even just plain fruit instead.

The problem with dressing up for Halloween around my neighbourhood is that mostly everyone is older, and as a result no one knows who I'm dressed up as.
Here's a list as far back as I can remember: [a lot of them I can't remember]
A pumpkin [really]
Dorothy the Dinosaur [my mum made my costume for me!]
Tigger
Batgirl
a princess
Anakin Skywalker [back before I knew better]
Harry Potter
Samus Aran [Zero Suit version]
Tifa Lockheart [I made the costume myself]

[Here's how Tifa looks in the Final Fantasy VII movie:]

I'm not going trick-or-treating, but I went to my social club's Halloween party on Thursday night. I dressed as an angel. :D

^I have a flowing, delicate drapery thing that looks rather angelic. [More than one person actually commented about that while I was wearing it last.]

I only remember having two costumes:

Darth Vader
A Ghost (Big surprise there, huh? :P )

Numerous schools are forbidding costumes and not allowing Halloween parties.

I am not sure why, actually.

^Old playgrounds are more fun to me than the new, plastic ones.

I've never dressed up for Halloween, because it was never part of my childhood. It has only been the last 10 years or so that some kids have dressed up and gone trick or treating in my neighborhood. Just as well, I would have felt it rude and awkward to beg strangers for candy. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved candy and chocolate, but the not accepting candy fro strangers rule was one that always made sense to me, and I would find it cheeky to ask for it.

I can only remember dressing up twice. The first time I was 5 and we had a dress up party in daycare. I wanted to go as a pirate, but my mother didn't find any suitable costume so she dressed me up as a flower instead and thought I was so cute. I was really unhappy about it. I didn't want to be cute, I didn't want to be a flower.

The second time was for school, one of the last days before some holiday, probably autumn break. I was dressed as a mouse, which was fine by me. I never got to school though, because I felt sick and threw up on the way there.

I used to have customs as a kid (Indian, dog, Viking, vampire fangs) and played with those, but never dressed up for anything besides just playing.

Some years ago one of the TV channels here sent a few horror movies on Halloween. I loved that, but it was only that one time as far as I can remember. I wish they did that again for us horror fans!

Ever seen Svengoolie? I used to watch it when I still stayed up late.

JENOVA from Final Fantasy VII is probably the scariest/creepiest/most terrifying thing in a video game [playing Metroid games at night are second on the list].

[I suggest reading her entry on Final Fantasy wiki to learn more about what makes her so terrifying.]

I've never even heard of it, so I googled it. I don't think that has ever aired here.

Well, Halloween and October are over. Time for November, which means days are getting colder and shorter. It is not my favorite month.

Daylight Savings Time has ended here. The shortest days of the seasons are coming up.

^ here it ended on Oct 30th.

Friday we saw our first snowfall. It's still around. It's somewhat rare for the first snow to stay for that long. We have a saying that the snow has to fall seven times before it stays (for the winter).
