Mike thinks about it for a moment. "Do you think whoever left these shoes here could be responsible for the sound that Sam picked up earlier?

~Flashback~
-[2023]-

"Earlier today China has officially declared war on the United States. This is no doubt due to our increased military presence there. All of America's allies in the west have agreed to help in the war effort and we believe that China is forming alliances with other eastern nations. This could very well be the start of World War 3."

Mike watched the news broadcast in horror. I did this... I created the weapons that they are using, the ones that gave them the power and confidence to mess with China. What have I done? Why didn't I consider the consequences of creating weapons? What did I expect? What was I thinking? He sat there staring blankly at the floor. How can I make this right?

"Revevant facts..." Calem said flatly, not bothering to look behind him. "What do you even know about this station? Have you been here before?"

"Hey! Can we keep going?" Laura chirped, because the shoes diddn't bother her so much, and ended up walking right into a pillar.

"Probably, but there's nothing we can do for this man now," Guinan replied to Mike's question. "Are you going to be OK?" she asked Lily.

Guinan cracked a slight smile at Kiki's "relevant facts." When Laura bumped into the pilar, Guinan looked away, not wanting to embarrass the girl.

"Ow..." Laura said, but then abruptly twirled around. "I'm fine! This happens to me a lot. Now Kiki, if your here to help us, tell us something useful!" She chirped.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." Lilli said.

To Calem, Kiki said, "I know a lot, but I'm not allowed to say it directly."

"As I said, in 1856, King Kumquat the Lesser, after being defeated by the Bosqanites, ended his life by throwing himself out of a eucalyptus tree. Back then, it was considered honorable to end your own life rather than to surrender to the opponent."

They paused.
"Did you also know that in human households in Japan, people take off their shoes before entering the home?"
They shrugged. "That's all I got. But if you put those things together, I think it should be pretty darn obvious."

Meanwhile, Oeuyia and Karion were having a lovely self-guided tour of the station, and the few people they did accidentally meet were too startled and embarrassed by Oeuyia's nakedness to do much of anything.

"I understand," Guinan said, nodding solemnly at Kiki. "Our fight is up there though, not here," she added, gesturing above her toward where she imagined the carrier to be.

Kiki grinned cheekily. "Oh. I'm aware." they said. Their grin disappeared for a second and they glanced briefly at Lilli.
"...But some of us have fights in other places." they said solemnly.

Before there was time for anyone to speak, a ringing came from Kiki's pocket, causing them to dig around hastily in their shorts and pull out a small gadget that looked like a mirror. A circle of rainbow lights lit up on the sides of the gadget and the device continued to ring and vibrate until Kiki tapped the screen, silencing it.

At first Kiki looked hazily at the screen in confusion but then their eyes widened when they saw what it was. "Well dayum, that's a surprise." they said quietly. They continued to stare at the screen for several minutes, their eyes wide and utterly fascinated, until something tapped them on the shoulder lightly.

"Uhm, is something wrong...?" Lilli piped. Kiki, the poor thing, had been zoning out for several minutes and Lilli was sure that they might have been traumatized. They seemed very nervous and on edge-- much moreso than usual, Lilli noted-- and their face was a very bright shade of red, which Lilli knew was a sure sign of either nervousness or embarassment or anger. They put a tentative hand on Kiki's arm. "Are you okay?" they asked timidly. "You, uh.. you seem sort of out-of-sorts."

Kiki jerked their arm away. Crap crap crap crap what do I do?? they thought nervously.
"A-ahhh, nope!" Kiki said shakily, hastily shoving the device in their pocket. "Everything is A-OK!" they burst, giving a very large and exuberant thumbs-up.

They grinned uneasily and took several fast steps backwards. "W-well I've got some FRIENDS TO MEET BYE!"
And with a poof, Kiki disappeared.

Lilli blinked. ".....They're weird."

Mike watches Kiki disappear with confusion and suspicion, although at this point he is starting to get used to this kind of insanity. Suddenly he remembers that they have limited oxygen and he checks the amount remaining. 4 minutes. "Uhh... Crap. We really need to get going, I only have 4 minutes of oxygen left and I'm willing to bet that most of you aren't doing much better." He resumes climbing in the low gravity, attempting to quickly scale the last 100 meters.

~Flashback~

Mike and Mason are in a MegaWatt company meeting discussing the war and what it means for the company. Mike points out "Our particle cannons probably contributed to the war being declared, we need to try to make this right for ourselves and for the company." Someone asks "You aren't seriously suggesting that we cut off supply to the military, are you? We signed a 3 year contract with them and they are by far our largest source of income." Mike thinks for a moment, "I guess you're right... We have to do something though, do good and advance humanity in some way to restore the company image." And help me live with myself. The room stays silent for a bit until someone breaks the silence by saying "What about space travel?" Mason says "I'm listening..." He continues, "We could become a private space agency as a side project. We totally have the money to do it, and it would be great for our company image." Mike replies "That's not a bad idea..."

And stay away! Calem thought, though they couldnt hear him. Omipotent people really annoyed both Calem and Laura.

When Mike said that they only had 4 miniutes of air left, Laura felt a teensy bit scared for a second, rerembering how hard it was to breathe in the Geosenge Flare Hideout. That whole incedent really traumatized all five kids that were there, but hey! At least their world was still in one piece! "All right, let's go!" Laura said cheerfully yet nervously, quickly following Mike up the next pillar.

"H-hey, I can teleport us if you want." Lilli said.

Gristle turned around.

"I mean, o-obviously not all of us,
but like..." They looked around, trying to gauge the size of the people in their group. "...Maybe two of us?"

"A-and with Magia's help, I think that might be possible."
They counted up all the people in the group with their finger.
"...Let's see, two, four, six, eight, nine... Hmm...."

"But if I did that many, there's the risk of snagging, and blackout... And--oh crap, what level is Magia? Yeah, that's no good... ....Wait. Except Enye's Gardevoir! Yeah, maybe three or four folks there..."

They continued fumbling and calculating for about a minute before finally they turned their head up to Mike and grinned.
"If you're okay with letting out our Pokemon, I think we can do this."

Laura gasped. "Calem! Doesn't Candy know Teleport too?" He nodded. "Yeah, for whatever reason. I didn't even know that a Clefable could learn Teleport until she just mysteriouslu knew it one day." Laura jumped up and down, throwing her fists in the air. "Yay!" She cheered.

Noticing her own very low oxygen indicator, Guinan climbed silently until, first Lily, then Laura, mentioned teleporting people. "If you're not sure... let's keep climbing," Guinan said, doing just that. "Can't take pokemon out in space, can you?" she asked quickly.

"There is air up in where were supposed to be, right?" Laura asked.

(Um, Lilli? Did Lilli even catch Magia? )

"Well, I thought there is..." they said. "How else would you explain that incident with the Heiwa Federation guy and the airlock?"

"Hm, your probably right..." Laura looked down slightly. It was slightly bugging her, as to what her friends were gonna do when she got back home, and would they be mad when they found out about her and Cal being a couple? And given the media found out that their darling little Fairy Princess found a prince... Oh Arceus... She thought. "Hey! I think were almos there! This is the last pillar we have to climb, right?" She looked up at the end of the ladder, which was now in sight.
