^^^ Actually I have a turtle soap dish that is not dissimilar to the turtle pot holder seen above. Unfortunately I don't currently have a digital camera to take a pic of it to post for you.

Here's some turtle soap to make up for it:

It looks so real! I almost "see" the turtle surfing right out of the wall! What an incredible piece of art! 8)

It would be nice to see it some day, Enviro! Thanks for the lovely soap images - they are so artfully made! Look at those detailed turtles... Both the green are white are just so beautiful!

I actually have some turtle soaps myself. I was once given a set with a couple of purple turtle soaps. Needless to say, I never used them. I didn't have the heart. They aren't anywhere as nicely made as the beauties you posted, but they were cute just the same.

I also have a Palmolive hand soap (the type you press to get soap out, like in the second pic Enviro posted). The soap inside is blue and the sticker on the outside of the container is of a lovely sea turtle. Palmolive had this series with sea creatures on the outside of the hand soaps sold here some years ago. I still have one left.

I should post pics of them, and other of my turtle items once...

Here's a dream garden:

Hmm, seems like I've had an intruder near my turtle pond... Oh well, who can blame her? Turtles are irresistible!

Would you eat these or just keep them somewhere in a cool place?

It depends, Enviro. Nidar and Freia are two producers that among other things sell bags of mixed candies. In two of their bags they have these little cuties:

They are easily available and there are several just in one bag. And yes, I eat them. But though they're just sugary sweets, I actually do feel a little bit bad about eating them. Seriously. I know it's ridiculous, I know they're just turtle-shaped candy, but occasionally I have to tell myself that it's just a turtle-shaped candy...

On the other hand, when I was a teenager my mother gave me a chocolate tortoise. It was somewhat big and from some foreign producer, so not something I could just easily get a new one of. It's still safely in the fridge, ca 20 years later. It was never even remotely tempting to eat it. Since I'm a sweet tooth no-one expected me to keep away from it for long. But I was clear that I wasn't gonna eat it. And here it still is!

So I would only eat those turtle chocolates if I could easily get more of them.

yep! it is tricky sometimes to clean the inside of the hamster bottles, since they're tiny and had to get anything in there and scrub. we then found a sort-of solution, to mix parts of sand and parts of water, fill the bottle with it and SHAKE VIGOROUSLY. doesn't leave spotless but works better than anything else! the turtle is cleaned separately :D

very important to cork the bottle with a thumb or other object instead of with the metal tube, because then the sand gets stuck there..

I remember that problem from having guinea pigs. And sometimes the mouth (snout) piece jammed so the poor animals didn't get water. Not a good system.

Mothra: "I wish I could swim".

Gamera: "I wish I could fly".

Weren't they cute when they were young, and had yet no plans for world domination?

They were very cute when they were young! :D

Afterwards, I'd say they had more in common with Kip's pet Bridgette. Maybe they're friends. Or rivals. :chin:

I think this was how things got started for Gamera and Mothra:
