Chavs pick on and harrass anyone who's different to them. The majority are bad eggs.

True. Still, that's the stereotype. And let's face it, most emo guys need some testosterone.

Um...
(raises black-gloved hand)
Both my friends have attempted suicide. Neither of them are goth or emo. And yet here I am, with my heavy eyeliner and dark lipstick and black clothes and dyed-dark hair... and suicide has never really appealed to me. The only times I get depressed are when I'm having a depressive episode (it runs in my family). I'm a bit of a pessimist, to be sure, but a lot less so than most of the people I know. And too much black makeup? It brings my skin tone into sharp relief, which i think is really pretty.
Just a goth's two cents.

oooh tough question.
I don't want to sound like I'm just copying but, well I'd have to go with Emo.
Angsts has a sort of appeal to me. But that's only because I have dealt with 14 years of depression.

To me, goths seem more angry than emos. Emos seem more on the side of depressed with the world and with themselves.

I prefer goths myself, because I'm usually into the same kind of music. Not to stereotype.

Chav?
what is "Chav?"

The Gothic kids were always nice to me.
The Emo kids weren't really mean to me but not really nice to me either, but the few I spoke with enjoyed the fact that I didn't tell them to get over themselves, I always felt that everyone is entitled to their feelings,

then I know some people who aren't goth or emo, but are very partial to wear dark clothes and things of the like.

>.>

but what is "Chav?"

I graduated before the emo thing became trendy for high school kids. The goth kids were nice. Never have met a chav.

People have asked me if I'm emo. People have asked me if I'm goth.

I'm an OPTIMISTIC SEMI-GOTH!

I prefer Goths. Emos can be cool, unless they're a bit too depressed. Please don't kill yourself thank you.

But, yeah. Whatever.
