"Okay sir." Alan then but in a belt of bullets into the .50 cal machine gun. He looked around as the buggy moved through the ruined city. He was getting nervous as they advanced farther and farther away from the bunker.
((The bunker is nowhere near the city of Highmore, it's in the middle of nowhere, North Dakota.))
The buggy rumbled over a bridge, one thousand yards away from the base. Fallen trees littered the road, and the colonel had to drive round them. Further along, two deer were by the road, grazing around on what they could, and thankfully harmless. "Alright, we know that not all of them are going to attack the moment that we see them. We've learned something already." After that, there was an abandoned station wagon crashed into a tree, which looked badly beaten up, with smashed windows at first sight. The colonel stopped the vehicle. "Right, I'll go and investigate, you stay here." He ordered Alan to stay put, and picked up his assault rifle, weapon trained on the car. The windscreen had a huge hole in it, and a half devoured, armless corpse had tried to get out, which was evident in the way the driver's door had been pushed wide open, but the person inside had failed to escape. Gruesome. Saldana felt a little peaky at that, but kept his integrity. The front right passenger door was also open, and there were bullet holes in the side of the male corpse's skull, and also long dried up blood all over the place.
Interesting, someone tried to get here, the car was driving straight towards the warehouse, and someone escaped. The person didn't shoot themselves, someone else did it.
((I'm off for the night, see you all))
