^To put it bluntly, it's disgusting and dystopian and horrible.

I haven't read it, so I can't say anything about it. But in general I like dystopian books a lot (like Hunger Games, Life as we knew it, The Maze Runner, Dibergent etc).¨

I tried reading Oryx and Crake by the same author, but just found it boring. It was DF.

^I prefer happy fantasy stories, which is ironic because the characters in the book I wrote have to go through loads of crazy stuff before they can make their happy ending right.

Speaking of happy, are there any good happy books that anybody could recommend?

I've been trying to start reading again, but all the stuff I've read is really sad. I don't like the sad. :(

Interesting. I think it sounds good. But then, I like that kind of dark stuff.

it has the serial number 00000.

the title refers to the introduction of randomness into the science of physics through the development of quantum mechanics, breaking the assumption of a deterministic universe. among other things.

^ that's exactly what I thought it meant! uhm yeah, not so much.
It's impressive that you got through that book, Kip. i read up on it some more now, and I will pass on reading that book TBH. Glancing at the Wikipedia entry and reading some Good Reads reviews was enough for me. Sorry.
I liked the rocket's serial number though 8)

Here's a fun game: If you could only keep 20 books, which ones would you keep?

Good luck with that :P

Skitty, just 20 books???!?? I honestly don't even know where to start. I literally have hundreds of books that have a safe forever home with me, and just the thought of cutting them down to 20... 8O

^That would be like asking me to cut down to 20 movies. Inconceivable!! ! :P

^ So, which 20 movies would you pick? :P

Skitty, do you know which 20 books you'd go for?

^I figured everyone's reactions would be either: I can't just pick 20! or 20? I don't have nearly that many to begin with! Here's my list [not counting manga!]:

The Neverending Story
The Silmarillion
Darkwing, Silverwing, Sunwing, and Firewing [a four-book series]
The Earthsea Cycle: A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, The Farthest Shore, and Tehanu [there's two other books that I don't have]
Cat's Eye Corner
Sundancer
The Green Man
Diana Wynne Jones books: Enchanted Glass, The Darklord of Derkholm, Year of the Griffin, Fire and Hemlock, Hexwood, The Merlin Conspiracy, Dogsbody, Howl's Moving Castle.

Okay, I cheated and listed 21.

Here's a better question: If you could buy any [reasonable] number of books at the best bookstore ever, what would you buy?

I'd buy some Choose Your Own Adventure/Give Yourself Goosebumps books, and also some books about autism. Also a couple of interesting-looking novels.
