Fermi said "if aliens exist then they would already be here". That is: given infinite time even astronomical distances in space would be bridged by evolving technology. So they should be here already ( to enslave us, or to eat us. Or to just shake hands with our leader, or whatever). So the fact that they havent gotten here yet shows that they dont exist.

He might be right, or not.
