"We're ready," Guinan says as Fennekin prances around, the hot air still puffing out his ears.

"Alll righty, then." Lilli gave a sly grin.

They looked down, pondering which one to use.
There was
"Uhh.. shoot. Um, Skip, use Quick Attack!"
Skip nodded at her trainer.

In a blink, a blur kicked up into the air like a rabid animal pouncing on its prey.

Lilli couldn't see it, but she could hear a smackas Skip thwacked off the Fennekin's face and came twirling back like a boomerang.

"Bun!" she said.

The Fennekin was clearly wounded, but his eyes are still sharp. "Foxy, scratch Skip! You can do it!" Guinan makes a clawing motion in the air and points at Skip to make her meaning clear. Foxy hesitates a split second, then races after Skip, aiming to scratch a leg.

Mike's left hand is replaced with a small array of scientific instruments and Sam has scanning equipment deployed. The screen on Mike's arm is displaying graphs of the data gathered by the instruments, and Mike spends almost as much time looking at that as he does watching the battle.

He had expected a normal animal fight with a lot of biting and scratching but one of these creatures was incredibly fast and the other one was producing a surprising amount of heat, it's not like anything he had ever seen which is really saying something considering that he has worked with genetic engineering, explored the multiverse, and participated in the Great Solar War. There is also the walking plant and the ones that Laura had, they are all so weird and he could see why these fights were such a big thing here. Come to think of it, the only normal Earth life forms he had seen here are the people and the plants. That's certainly odd.

Fennekin hits hard. Skip falls over, clenching its foot in pain.
While the Fennekin is near, Lilli sees an opening.
"Quick, use Tackle!"
Skip slams Fennekin when it's off-guard, sending it tumbling back to Guinan.
She seems to be doing well, but then she staggers backwards, knocking into Lilli's leg.

"Foxy, scratch Skip, go!" shouts Guinan as she watches her Fennekin on his way back. The Fennekin turns away from Guinan again, trying to move in on Skip while Skip is still down.

In a forum roleplay battle like this you should really let the opponent decide how an attack you do effects them (does it do a lot of damage, do they dodge it, does it knock them off their feet, ...) the way DataB4 did. It's just good practice

(OOC: I got the same tip from a fellow roleplayer also. It can be tricky sometimes, trying to say you have a chance at a particular hit but not actually saying that your shot hit home. It's all good though Lily,

Question: I thought quick attack was level 7 not level 1, maybe I misread? It doesn't really matter right now, I do want to know how it works though.

Also, does anyone know how to actually use the blowing hot air out the ears thing to do actual damage? It doesn't seem to be an actual move but the hot air is uber hot so it should... shouldn't it?

(It isnt, its just a stylistic quirk. When it blows fire from its mouth its an attack.)

I thought it was level 5, but maybe I'm wrong. I was just going off Level 5 'cause that's the "default" level for starters.

Edit: You are right! Shows I need to check my facts.

"Skip, watch ou--"

But was too slow.
In one fell swoop, Skip went from almost-full HP to less than a quarter left.

How did it dothat?

Lilli didn't have time to ponder. "Um, use Agility!"

They didn't know what it did, but it sounded fast-- and what they needed was speed.

"Come on, fam, please..."
Skip was struggling to get up.
"I know you can do this."

And with a bit of effort, Skip was back on her feet-- building up speed as she raced around the battlefield.

Skip is faster than Foxy at the moment, though Foxy is less wounded. He has the large facial wound and one in the back where Skip slammed into him. "Use ember, Foxy!" Guinan shouts across the battlefield as she watches Foxy attempt to catch up with Skip.

(OOC: I didn't know we all start at level 5. As for the hot air doing no damage, LOL whatever, silly game mechanics.

"Gahh, dodge it!"

Skip ducked to the side as just the fireballs came, though one of them struck on the top of her ear.
It was smoldering slightly as she kept on running, and Lilli could see a rather nasty burn where it had hit. She was slowing down a bit, but she was managing to keep away for now.

"Now come up from behind and use Tackle!"

Foxy tries to dodge but too late. Skip tackles Foxy from behind, knocking him off his feet and seriously wounding two of his legs. "I know you can do it, Foxy! Go use ember!" Guinan encourages. By the time Foxy gets up, Skip has already crossed the field again. "Go faster!" Guinan cheers Foxy on as he starts to pick up speed.

"Jump! Block it with your ears!"
Skip jumped.. but this time it hit her. She fell to the ground.

Well, crap. Were they done?

Lilli looked again. ...No, she still had HP.

They squatted down next to the Bunnelby's ear.
"Listen, bud, if you win, I'll get you strawberry cupcakes," they whispered.
Now that perked her up.
"Use agility again. And this time.. go even faster."
And that bunny was off.

"Use ember again, go!" Guinan counters. Foxy starts chasing Skip around the field again, this time trying for a longer distance shot.
(OOC: Sorry folks, but I have to go to bed in like a half hour for an early morning tomorrow, so I don't know if we'll see the last round tonight or not.)

(OOC) G'night! Hope you get a good rest.

BIC:
Oh, dear. Lilli was running out of options here.
"Jump, incoming!"
Skip ducked as an Ember went whizzing overhead. Foxy was gaining and

"Now go for a Quick Attack!" Lilli shouted.

Suddenly Skip switched direction and started running toward Foxy.
After gaining the right speed, she leapt up into the air and started hurtling forward like a weird bunny boomerang...
"Come in with your feet!"

Skip swung up its feet at the last minute, looking at Lilli in confusion.
