It's only because of reverse transcriptase that they're called retroviruses, and reverse transcriptase doesn't do a very good job anyway.

Well, it's amazing that reverse transcriptase does a crappy job of reverse transcription. That's why HIV mutates so often.

Here is a message concerning the greatest resource the Imperium has.

Also, North Korea has fallen to the might of the Imperium.

*salutes*

Generals, we have another problem. Africa is overrun with flying AIDS bugs swarms. We must burninate the bugs.

Would you mind if I give the order for Exterminatus for my battlefleet to carry out?

No. Africa must be preserved. The bugs must be obliterated somehow.

Meh, exterminatus would destroy the planet anyway.

I'm going to go on a crusade and purge the sector Earth is in of heretics and other forces of Chaos.

Earth shall not be targeted though. The WP army is welcom to fight against the evils of Chaos with the Imperium. But we will have to have some members of the Inquisiton stay in your armies making sure that there is no heresy if you do. I'm sure there won't be any heretical things going on though.

You will need gattling cannons, fuel air bombs, and napalm.

Bug swarms? Well, if these are mosquito variants I would simply use gas to eliminate the larger swarms and drain stagnant waters to prevent breeding. With other bugs I might rely more heavily upon gases though. Burnination could easily be dangerous unless these bugs are monstrous as burnination can damage stronger creatures as well as weaker ones. I will arrange for flying vehicles with gas bombs to deal with the bug issue.

Gas bombs can harm the environment more than napalm bombs, and possibly have very negative side effects, especially on such a scale in the atmosphere. Neutron bombs with low yields and virtually no fallout should also be used.
