You have to do something to ruin the other person's wish in some way, or make it so it's not enjoyable for them.



Granted, but it's a fire Pokemon and it burns you up.

I wish my mom would stop getting mad at my brother.

Granted, she now gets mad at you instead.

Granted, you have a brother who is deeply jealous of you and wants to kill you.

I wish no one was poor.

Granted, everyone in the world now owns a dozen gold bars. Unfortunately this makes the price of gold worthless.
