Fantasy Lands-Gandesha-Let's Roleplay!
The hooded figure picked up the bronze cylinder, opened it and removed the scroll contained within. Reading the incantation inscribed there under the title "For Pangnosis also known as Omniscientia" he became aware of the existence of Myrrhdyn, Quartermass, Sindri and Merithae. He reached out his mind, questing for them, sending his name towards their minds by way of introduction, for Alaric Aelfwinson had ever been known for his courtesy. The mind-bond with Quartermass accelerated his abilities for temporal and spatial travel across vast distances (he had long been reasonably adept at transference to parallel worlds, but time and space travel within one space-time continuum continued to be rather unstable with him. His attempt to link with Sindri attracted the attention of his own shadow-half who proceeded to attempt to claim one or both of them as its vessel. Alaric's attempts to "save" Sindri were not appreciated. Sindri was in any case strong enough to resist, desiring to serve no evil but his own. The High Dragun Merithae showed up. Alaric fell unconscious from the mental strain of the conflict, having just been in the act of imploring Merithae to lend a hand for goodness' sake, as what threatened Gandesha and all of existence was worse than any dragon - though of course not all dragons are malevolent; be that as it may the worst of those that.... (becomes comatose, his mind flying through the Void to the Tower Beyond the Forest of Long Awaiting. His body followed drawing his shadow-self). When he awoke he had a vision of Quartermass and Myrrhdyn and decided to join them for mutual protection. He takes care to block his path behind him against being followed by beings of unadulterated malevolence (people with some or indeed many, sins, flaws and peccadilloes can, however follow - and they do, namely Merithae and Sindri - yes, Sindri is not pure evil - yet). Fortunately the depraved side of Alaric's psyche is now unable to follow, and he eludes it - for a time....

"I would like to know a bit about this artifact though." Marie murmured softly to herself, unsure if she could be heard. She turned her head and followed on behind the two, noticing how he ignored the town up ahead. Was it Greystone? A bypass maybe? She figured that this was just a place before them. Her mind went off it and onto her new friend, Irial. Maybe Sindri would abandon her after extracting what he came for but she had a feeling that Irial wouldn't.
"Sindri, what are you going to do after you get this thing anyways?" she asked him, becoming more and more curious about the situation she was in.

"I will tell you when it is safe. We are being watched and heard."
"I'll tell you this though. The entity which is taking refuge within your mind is a dangerous weapon that can only be... controlled by a strong mind. So long as I do not try to remove it, not harm will be done. I know little about its other properties, though. Likely enough, that is the reason we have not been attacked by my enemies yet."
Sindri slowed to a halt as the party reached Northglade Forest. "We should be careful here, there may be bandits and wolves in the forest." The trees were dense, and the sun barely shone through the thick skyliine. The pathway was dim, but well lit compared to the huge oak trees on either side...
The three travellers continued to head North, wary of beasts and robbers.

Irial looked around, hand at her sword in anticipation of any unsavory characters. She was not really nervous; she was more of a match for any robber with a switchblade, even with her rusty sword. Irial's mind began to wander, to the thing in Marie's mind, as was understandable. Evidently it was an entity of some sort. A powerful entity, at that. That frightened Irial. Did the entity have the power to somehow invade Marie's mind, skewing her thoughts?
Irial quickly made herself stop this line of thought, and continue ahead. There was no good in voicing thoughts that couldn't be acted upon. Better to keep an eye out for bandits.

Apathy is not a vice, it is a relieving and downright enjoyable life-choice.
She hadn't fed the night before. That would explain why she was weak. It also struck Nyx as slightly sad; it was like a child who was hungry. Vampires, after all, needed to survive as well.
Don't you have a mentor? Nyx inquired. Someone who can help you with this?
(sorry I've been away so long)
Garnet glanced up to make sure that the bats were sleeping.
"No," she said. "I don't. I thought the lady vampire who changed me into one of her kind seven months ago would help me, but she just fled as soon as she could and I haven't seen her since."

Nyx hesitated, feeling torn. Vampires were technically evil, but she was just a child...a lost child, really. Sleeping in a tree with bats? It could hardly be a good life.
"Look," she finally said. "If you want, I can help you."

"No," Nyx answered. "I can't. But I'm not normal either. If I was, how would I be able to talk to you telepathically? How could I turn on lights and radios without touching them? Trust me, I've been through a changing process too." She took a deep breath. "I'm not offering to teach you any supernatural tricks. I can't do that. What I'm offering you is a place to stay - I'm guessing that you don't have a home; trees are kind of cramped - and food. If you can eat, that is." She felt silly. Could vampires eat? Some said that they could, but others said they couldn't. Oh well. "Anyway, I might even be able to help you hunt. I used to work for the FBI. I know how to be stealthy. And if there's an emergency, I might be able to get you blood." She shrugged. "It's your choice. You can do as you please. I don't intend on hanging over your shoulder."
She sighed and raked a hand through her hair, closing her eyes briefly. Garnet would want an explanation as to why she wanted to help; she was sure of it. The girl was probably wary. She had a reason to be.
"Look. I've seen a lot in the past few years, ok? I know what this world can do to ki-- anyone. I hate it. It's not right. And I don't want to find out that some idiot with a chip on his shoulder killed you, all right? I just want to help." She paused again. How much was too much? It had become the question of her life lately. "I can't really tell, since the tree is dark and all, but you kind of remind me of my little sister. She was normal, but she got hurt just the same." Too much. Blast. She would never figure this side-stepping thing out. "Whatever, that's not the point. The point is, I don't want you to get hurt. So...my offer still stands. I can help you, if you want."

The deliberate destruction of a sun in a world distant from Gandesha sent ripples along a portal opened in the void across the multiverse, accelerating the rate of entropy on Gandesha, leaving Alaric with rather less time to save all the worlds (see Characters).
"Thanks a bunch, Aaron!" muttered the now thoroughly put out Shaft'Ur Monk Militant (the lingering effects of the incantation he had read recently enabling him to determine almost at once who was responsible; his speech only became that informal, even muttering under his breath, when under severe stress) before turning to give a summary of the troubling status of affairs, its probable link with the materialising ogres, and the pressing urgency of the need to do something constructive about it all, to an increasingly concerned Myrrhdyn and Quatermass, both of whom seem familiar somehow...

In the ensuing state of confusion following his regeneration he talked in an erratic fashion of his memories of Eledhwen. He commented that Myrrhdyn reminded him of her, and of someone else (an ancestor of hers perhaps) with whom Quatermass seemed to share a certain air or manner in common.
"Now what was the name, or was it names, or was there a title...?"

The party had come to another stream, this time a low water crossing, after walking roughly five miles. Sindri looked at his watch... it was half past twelve in the morning.., then stopped and sat down on his feet on the patch of land around the
"Here, we will take a rest." He said calmly.
Sindri took a few cookies, and strawberry tonic juice from his backpack, and looked at the stream.

Reading aloud again the by now much faded incantation on the scroll (his use of the sorcery had somewhat depleted its potency) Alaric had a vision of the Black Mage whose consciousness he had encountered earlier - Sindri was the name he seemed to recall - had they met before? The mage was not alone, but accompanied by a hybrid being whose consciousness seemed to Alaric to be an interweaving of two vastly different personalities, one being friendly and somewhat naive, one the reverse of both traits. There were other figures, but they seemed like shadows in contrast to these two in the vision. He revealed this information to Myrrhdyn and Quatermass, and asked what they thought their number one priority should be now. He was getting worried, particularly as his companions did not seem to be very communicative. He was not offended, as he could be quite taciturn himself, but communication was necessary now and telepathy would be such a strain in his current condition. He hoped it was not his fault, spoiling the delicate dymamics of the pair. He attempted to reach out a tendril of consciousness and promptly passed out, though not this time sufficient to require regeneration (just as well!)
When he awoke he screamed, "Irial! I know that name is of vital importance!"
He realised that the others were probably doubting his sanity by now.

Tom and Dibble wandered through the ruins. Dibble clung to Tom's hand, scared.
Finally, they stumbed upon what looked like a house. Dibble was instantly detered.
"Why don't we go to a faraway galaxy and live in a retirement villiage?" she tried to run off. Tom merely held her hand.
"Come on, we beat the soul-gobblers you'll OWN the damned retirement villiage!" Tom lifted her up onto his shoulder. "Now shut up and come on!"
"Mamma!" the Bear clutched Dibble, frightened.
They wandered in. Tom raised his hand, and a fireball appeared to light the way. The inside of the house was a mess. Someone had been searching for something and hadn't found it. Dead bodies lay everywhere.
"These students didn't stand half a chance." Tom sighed. He lifted his other hand, and vines reached up and grabbed the bodies and pulled them beneath the soil.
"Rest. In. Peace." ((couldn't resist!))
Tom carried Dibble up the stairs. He could feel Toohey's. It was close.
"Looking for this?"
Tom spun around. He, Dibble and the Bear were trapped on the stairs, surrounded by soul-gobblers!
"Oh *%&$." Tom swore.
"TOM!" Dibble growled.
"Situation called for it!" Tom defended himself.
"I have your....sword butt...." one of the soul-gobblers held...well...
"Put Toohey's down." Tom growled.
"Make me!" the Gobbler replied.
"DRAGON FORCE!" Dibble cried.
"What the-?" Tom jumped away.
The soul-gobbler screamed and dropped Toohey's. Tom swooped down and grabbed it.
"FIRE." he commanded. The butt let out a blade of fire!
The three fought, but to no avail.
"We're doomed." Dibble groaned as she, Tom and the Bear were backed into a corner, outnumbered 10 to one.
