Why are your ferns not silver on a black background?

*Don't worry, Moomin will get a happy picture soon*

Kinda like your silver hippo and silver snow on a black background, eh?

Glad to see someone recognises the shapes on my avatar as ferns and not feathers. New Zealand is set for a final parliamentary vote on marriage equality tomorrow; hence the Kiwi (silver ferns) take on the marriage equality logo, in support.

(Here's hoping for a happy hippo, too. :) )

Marriage equality in purple :)

Here's hoping the politicians show some sense for a change.

And it's a moomin, not a hippo. Heathen Kiwi 8O

Still wondering why it's purple though.....

Ah, you can't help it, you've been living with Aussies for too long

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!! !! !

Purple, btw, has become something of an unofficial colour representing marriage equality. The term "purple union" refers to same-sex weddings. Red and blue also represent women and men as "opposites", while purple represents people who are the "same" (men or women) ... or so I'm told.

Still wondering what a "moomin" is though.....
Sounds like a "moon animal". Looks like it, too.

a lovely purple NZ marriage equality logo, from a lovely ex/current Kiwi living with the lovely Australians. I take it all back, sorry
A moomin is a type of troll from the children's books series by Tove Jansen, set in Finland. They do look alarmingly like hippos though
