In Britain, police cars were popularly known as 'Panda Cars'. This was apparently because early versions had a black and white colour scheme, though I've never actually seen such an example and wonder how many people have. The cars were in fact painted in blue and white during the 1960s and 1970s.

Later cars came to be termed 'Jam Sandwiches', on account of their colour scheme. The SD1 Rovers were the best known examples of this.

Here's something I remember very well:
When the Japanese series Sailor Moon was dubbed in English for the US, the lesbian couple Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune were portrayed as cousins to avoid controversy. However, the edits didn’t hide their obvious flirting, so their attempts at censorship instead caused people to think the relationship was both homosexual and incestuous.

Cardiff has the highest annual rainfall for any city in the UK.

Manchester, which is traditionally the butt of most jokes on this topic, can only manage 8th place.

Theories abound, but no one really KNOWS what killed King Tut.

Or Pharaoh Tutankhamen.

"Mummy Brown" was a pigment prized by painters from the 16th to early 20th Centuries. It was called that because it was made from mummies - yes, really; centuries dead ancient Egyptian people ground up into powder (and even mummified cats, too.) Appropriately enough, it was said to be good for painting "flesh tones". Thankfully, modern "mummy brown" paint is now made of inorganic ingredients, so modern painters don't have to worry so much about their pictures being haunted or cursed!

Supposedly, the inimitable Lemmy did not die in his longtime, beloved and famous (infamous?) apartment, but at a condo he had purchased a year before. This is according to an email from ‘Suzz Rocks’, who refers to herself as Lemmy’s little sister.

The ‘interrobang’ is a punctuation that combines and exclamation point with a question mark. You can find it by using the following keystroke keys: Word: Alt + 8253 Html: &#8253 Unicode: U + 203D

When a cat says meow, the "me" sound says, "I want to be with you," while the "ow" sound means "I want my own space." In summary, when a cat says "meow," it means "I want you, but on my own terms."
