Nope.

We don't eat coloured paper, which is what they use to get the snails to poop that way.

I hope you don't intend to explain them again.

I thought it was just the Finns who liked trying out their delicacies on foreigners.

But today this article appeared, where a British man is trying the same thing on unsuspecting Japanese people.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/food- ... rmite-a-go

Yuck. My dad used to try to get me to eat it when I was a kid, because it was cheap and (allegedly) nutritious. It tasted like eating tar to me. They have a slightly different recipe over here, and the equally unpalatable vegemite.

There are a ton of videos on YouTube of Americans trying out Vegemite (called the "Vegemite challenge"). But for some reason they seem to eat it raw straight from the jar. It's a terrible way to try Vegemite for the first time. Still funny to watch, though. :P There are videos from other countries as well, most of them hating it. Mind you, I did see a video of Russians trying Vegemite, and half of them actually seemed to like it.

But you know what's even better? Cadbury is bringing out Vegemite chocolate next month. I kid you not, Vegemite chocolate! Here's a news article about it. I seriously CAN'T WAIT to try it out! :D  :D

And now that we seem to have an Icelandic member, I hope they will tell us all the details of preparing hákarl.

Anyone here ever been to Iceland? It looks amazing, I would love to go there one day.

I actually thought at first that surströmming was the same as sursild, (inlagd sild in Swedish, pickled herring). But it turns out it's rakafisk (also called rakfisk or rakefisk). I will never eat anything fermented. Ever. I hate slimy food. :eew:

I've never been to Iceland. The only places I've been to are different places in Norway, Denmark, London and New York City.

Which places have you guys visited?

When I was living in the UK I visited Italy, France, Switzerland and Spain.

Since I've been here I have visited Australia (Melbourne, briefly), Vanuatu, and Rarotonga.

Plus a couple of stop overs for 24 hours in Bali and South Korea. Not bad really for someone who is terrified of flying. 8)
