when you live out in the sticks like I do, 50 miles+ from the nearest tv or radio broadcast antenna tower, you need a big ol' "flyswatter" [another slang term for deep fringe array TV antenna for DTV] just to pick up a usable tv signal, otherwise [with DTV] you get nothing, not even snow.
