That emoticon doesn't begin to express how flipping HAPPY I am right now. I just found out that my rock IDOL, Charly García, got clean off drugs more than 2 years ago! It took me that long to find out because I had totally given up on him, I didn't even want to see news about him. OMG, he used to check himself into detox every year for his birthday. He's a genius, but he couldn't even sing any more. God bless him! Aguanta, Charly, el mundo te necesita sano!
He is HUGE to me, ever since high school, when I first started getting fluent in Spanish and immersed in Argentinean music culture. So happy.
Damned La Poste! I've had a big parcel sent from England and just discovered that the crappy French post office has sent it back to England again because they couldn't deliver it! In other words the stupid postwoman was too idle to put a note in the letter box saying there was a parcel and it was too big to fit the box and hence would be available for collection from the post office for x number of days. Too much to ask for. The French postal service sucks.
Thanks Erminea. I'm happy now. Amazon.co.uk phoned me! Apparently the parcel was being delivered by the French Collissimo parcel delivery service and they couldn't find my address You would think that the national courier service would have sufficient maps/ GPS etc to find an address when it is correct and complete in every detail; but apparently not! Perhaps it was some temp driver working over the French holidays who was clueless or just couldn't be bothered. The silly thing is the parcel has now been shipped back to England again and Amazon are putting together a replacement order to ship back over to France again. I just hope a different courier driver is on duty next time! We've even had visitors from England drive right up to the front door using only a GPS to guide them to the address! So there can be no excuse for the French courier service.

Think the second time around they'll manage to deliver the parcel. They must, I say.
Parcel delivery services here tend to give the package to neighbours when no one's home at the address where it supposed to be delivered.. with a note dropped in the mailbox telling they did.. okay, not that bad, one could think.. but.. I really have a bad relationship with my direct neighbours and I'd rather see they store it in the main post-office here for a little while.. um, and telling me so.
Well, that way releasing me from those awkward *ding dong* moments at my neighbour's doorstep.. 'um, good evening', 'neighbie'. 'I believe my new floral printed dress is delivered at your address'.
Well, I'm going to prepare my favourite Chinese dish now. So
I was in all day the supposed attempted delivery took place. Had I been out they would have had some excuse - but at the very least they should have left a note in the mailbox. Since there was nothing I can only surmise that their inability to deliver was down to their incompetence. Amazon said the only information they'd been given by Collosimo was that my address was "undeliverable".
When I lived back in England I knew someone who'd ordered a large fridge-freezer and when it didn't turn up he phoned to query it. The delivery people said "Nobody was in so we left it in your garage." to which my friend replied "That explains it then. However, neither I nor my neighbours have got a garage!"

Probably some 'bullfrog' excuse from the delivery people.. or someone had a nice free fridge-freezer thrown in their lap.. (ouch).
Don't know.
Um, about the dress.. my neighbour was wearing the thing when he opened the door at the time.. and yeah.. since then the relationship cooled down considerately..
Nah.
I'm pretty , made a lovely dinner and sipping on a nice glass of white wine now.
