When breaking into a network, attackers have to balance operative security vs correlation:

- If they use a TLS certificate (to activate SSL/TLS encryption), they can be used to identify other attacks against other organisations, or other campaigns against other types of targets.

- If they go with unencrypted communications, it is easier to write signatures to identify and even block attacks, unlike when encryption is used which require defenders to use a decryption device (SSL/TLS decryption) that sits inline on the network ingress/egress port.

Also, if you as a defender use a SSL/TLS decryption device, you break the certificate model and it can be detected by an attacker and Certificate Revocation Lists does not work either.

In 2001, Pennsylvania’s Beaver College had to change its name to Arcadia University. Aside from the school being made fun of across the country, they were recruiting 30% fewer students, and anti-porn filters kept blocking access to their website.

According to National Geographic, evidence shows that the Anasazi were cannibals.

Explains why every other culture around them really, really hated and feared them.

‘Anasazi’ translates as ‘The Ancient Enemy ‘. :skull:

There are actually 13 signs in the astrological zodiac. Ophiuchus (The Serpent-Bearer) occurs after Scorpius (The Scorpion) and before Sagittarius (The Archer).

the bible belt term "tarnation" derives from "tarnal," old American southland corruption of "eternal" meant to refer to eternal punishment. it is derived from "darnation" which is a minced version of "damnation."

According to some 40-million-year-old bones that were found in Antarctica, penguins used to be over 6 feet tall and weighed more than 250 pounds.

modern tech era items such as what appear to be wristwatches and screwdrivers and drill bits, have been found, anachronistically in geological layers analogous to ancient ages well before mankind reached any technological level.

The suffix -stan means "country" or "land." Uzbekistan means, simply, "land of the Uzbeks."

When Disney was making The Lion King, they didn’t think real lions’ roars were powerful enough for some of the more dramatic scenes - so the sounds of the lions roaring in the film were made by a voice actor growling and yelling into a small metal trash can.

Do you know where I could find more information about this?
