There has never been a reported death caused by consuming too much weed.

While alcohol can become lethal at only 10 times the effective dose, the lethal dose for marijuana is at least 1,000 times greater than the dose you would need to achieve a noticeable effect.

Its pretty hard to overdose on weed. But I know of at least one famous person who died, in essence, of pot smoking. And that was Bob Marley. He had multiple cancers. And they seemed to be related to his massive ritualistic ganga smoking.

Smoking tobacco causes lung cancer. And chewing tobacco causes mouth cancers. So its not hard to imagine that a Rastaman like Marley, who smoked massive amounts of weed could get lung and other kinds of cancer from those huge spliffs that they ritualistically smoke. But am not an expert in oncology. Few of us could equal that kind of weed consumption because of lack of both access and lack of the stamina to smoke that much.

In the Seventies Rocknroll was stilll young when both Bob Marley died (age 35), and Bill Haley (age 52) died. They were the first two rockstars I was aware of to die of "natural causes" (though both probably had lifestyle issues that helped "nature" to off them).

^ Marley's primary cancer was a melanoma beneath the nail of his big toe, which developed around 1977. This wasn't properly dealt with, and by 1980 it had spread to his brain. He collapsed while on a North American tour in the late summer of that year, and died in May 1981. I hadn't heard the cancer was also in his lungs, but that wouldn't be unusual for a melanoma.

Overall, the few studies we have about cancer risk and marijuana use haven't been able to establish a correlation between lung cancer and marijuana use.

Maybe in the future we'll be able to study it more. I can see how lung irritation would not exactly be a great way to prevent cancer... but I'm unconvinced it's the same as tobacco use. But who knows. I've never smoked marijuana or cigarettes and I'm hardly an expert in any of it.

In the ancient world people from various cultures regularly ate acorns, especially in times of famine. During various periods of time they have also been used as substitutes for coffee when coffee supplies have been disrupted, like the American Civil War and World War II. And if it is properly prepared then acorn meal can be used as a substitute for grain flour in making bread.

The man who created the Pringles can, Fredric Baur, was so proud of his invention that he had some of his ashes buried in one when he died in 2008.

Adam Rainer was the only person on record to have been both a dwarf, and giant, in the course of his life.

Born in Austria in 1899, by age 18 he was a quarter inch more than four feet tall. Then by 19 he had apparently shrunk down to 3' 8". But then at age 32 he started a growth spurt that seems to have been caused by a pituitary tumor. He exceded normal height and topped off at 7'2". But his new gigantism forced him to be bedridden the rest of his life. He died in 1951.

Referring to the post about Bob Marley; I really do not understand how someone surrounded by people all the time could have basically died from neglect; wouldn’t SOMEONE have made him see a doctor?

Are you talking about the guy I was talking about? I don't see how he died of "neglect". He just died of giantism.
