Tom smiled. He threw Tooheys to the ground and threw up his hands.

"I just need some help defeating the biggest threat to the cosmos since mini-skirts." He grinned.

"Soul-gobblers." Dibble piped up. "I'm Dibble, this is my husband Tom and my Bear. They're after my powers so they can eat the soul of the cosmos."

"We don't mean any harm. We would have just left you alone, but our friends are either dead or can't remember us." Tom added. "Also we noticed you need some help."

"Ummm... maybe we could help eachother." Marie said, smiling a bit and looking to Dibble. She seemed to be some monkey creature, one of the more cute and charming(and mischevous) of the animal kingdom. Looking over to Tom and the bear she waved her violet paw, still smiling.

"They seem fine, Sindri." she said, looking over to them "Besides, they said they wouldn't attack us. Why not give them a chance~? They could help us out!"

A that point Alaric made his presence known to Sindri, stepping from behind a tree. At last a number of the names that had been swirling in his mind appeared to click into place.

"I hope that I have not startled anyone," he began, "but I think you should know that things are probably a great deal worse than any of you have hitherto expected, hard though that may be to believe...."

At which point the various transtemporal activities of Alaric, Quatermass, the Ogres and others now caused a radical instability, with the vortex now joining up with the void window banished to the Adamantine Mountain, and Alaric's enemy returned, challenging Sindri to a mind-duel.

Sindri looked judgingly at the two parties who had approached out of the blue. "What is your purpose here?"
"Marie, don't, it could be a trap." Sindri was displeased by the air of the characters.... Soul gobblers... Hmmm.
New enemies he'd never heard of before.

"I agree." Irial said, her voice grave. "We've managed to get ahold of an airship, you're welcome aboard if you like."
Without any further ado, she climbed back up the tree, leading the way to the anchored airship.

Dibble fell to four paws and walked up to Marie.

"You look really cute! Let's be friends!" she rolled over onto her back.

Tom smiled. He picked up Tooheys.

He sensed Sindri's hesitation.

"It's okay. Dibble, give our friend here a gift." Tom said.

Dibble walked up to Sindri and gave him a small bottle. "It's an elixer that does whatever you want. Just take a sip and you can be invisible, a dragon, mega handsome...Only take a drop though, and the effects only last 30 minutes. I made it myself." she put the bottle at his feet, looked up at him and started wagging her tail. Usually charmed anyone.

The Bear was looking at Marie. It giggled. Dibble smiled at it.

Sindri took the bottle and half-heartedly said "you have my gratitude." He gave off an inaudible grumble, and pocketed it as the lift box was winched up to the airship. He looked at the view of the treetops, and examined the equipment of the Airship.

"Furry friends~" Marie said, pivoting off her ankle spinning gracefully. She found herself somewhat light and cheery now that the imminent danger was gone, however, her companions did not seem as opening or accepting as she was. Looking up to the airship her puff-tail wiggled a bit and she blinked.

"So will you join us, Dibble~?" Marie asked, looking back to the monkey "We're going to have a lot of fun while dodging certain death."

"Sure are!" Dibble said before Tom could get a word in edgeways. She leapt up onto the airship beside Irial.

"Hi hi!" she smiled. "I got a present for you too."

She also called down to Marie. "I gots you a gift too!"

Jumping up and down, she handed Irial a purple cloak "It makes you super strong and it's also made of cotton, so it's super warm."

Alaric began to feel disoriented. Sensing the approach of his shadow-self and its intention of seeking to subordinate Sindri to its will, he projected his consciousnesss to attempt to prevent this - unfortunately exactly what it had intended, as it enabled it to quickly link with his own mind, which had previously beeen shielded, and also rendered it probable that Sindri would assume the attack was from him and retaliate before he could explain. Attempting to send a message conveying such an explanation while still seeking to fight off the attack upon himself from a former aspect of himself was very exhausting. He was brought to his knees. He implored those present to act swiftly, as they were all in imminent peril, hoping that they would understand. He attempted to send a summons to Myrrhdyn and Quatermass, and then passed out.

"Gift for Marie~?" she asked, craning her head over and eager at the thought. Maybe she would get a plush toy to accompany her beloved Pumpkin cat plush or a brand new car, but for now it was a mystery.

Irial looked down at Dibble's friendly, enthusiastic face, and couldn't help but smile.
"Thanks." She said, putting the cloak on. She then punched a hole in the deck of the airship, creating a fist-sized gap in the deck. Irial's grin grew wider.
"This can really come in handy."

Her mood improved slightly, Irial looked at Dibble and Tom, and asked, "So, what are these soul gobbler things?"

Sindri walked into the cabin, to find a dead body. He dragged the corpse along the deck, and threw it off the airship.
"We need to get going." Sindri pulled up the anchor and took the controls of the Airship. 'Hmmm, it could do with a name...' Sindri thought to himself. 'Hermion... after an ancient speed spirit.'
"We should name this airship Hermion. A spirit of speed." He adjusted the airship's engines to take it upward, about 10 metres at least, then turned it northwards. He switched the steam pressure to full, making the blades on both engines spin at maximum speed, accelerating Hermion. The burning fire crystals were new, and regular, production ones could last for one month at this rate of usage. He raised the pilot's chair, and sat on it whilst the ship flew quickly. "We should be there within a few minutes." This corvette is very fast.

Abandoned, Alaric almost succumbed to his evil shade, but in desperation he briefly exited the world in which the City of Gandesha lay, passing through the void to a world where he knew his foe would not be able to follow, as all evil calcified in the benevolence of its atmosphere, Traken he seemed to remember the name as, though he needed to timetravel to before that world's destruction (he had recuperated a great deal of his strength by now). Then he returned, and began to seek for the whereabouts of Myrrhdyn and Quatermass. He realised the time left to Gandesha if action was not taken with alacrity had been reduced by Aaron's folly in destroying Sol in another dimension from a century to a little over three years, but he had been more pressed than that in the past, though not frequently.

Dibble handed Marie a box. Inside were nine gems strung in a necklace.

"Nine is a good number. These gems will protect you from harm. Plus they go with just about anything." she grinned.

Tom smiled at Dibble, his eyes glossing over with affection. There was no doubt that he was in love with the clown-faced monkey.

"Soul-gobblers are part of the Evil Eight. The EE are the worst evil imaginable. Their plan is to get the soul-gobblers (who eat souls from living beings), to breed with a human. Dibble was the result. All the souls in her father, one of the most powerful soul-gobblers, combined to make her ultra-powerful.

But, her mother's blood intervened, and she is not a soul-gobbler. My mission was to destroy her so the soul-gobblers couldn't take her soul and it's immense power. If they do get her soul, they'll be able to consume the soul of the cosmos, and the rest of the EE will be able to pollute it with their evil, destroying everything.

Of course, as you can see, Dibble is pretty harmless, and kinda cute. When she was a human, she was beautiful too. I fell in love with her, and married her. After ten years, her father figured me out, and trapped me in a teddy bear. My old friend Quartermass released me, and the 'big magic' that made Dibble's soul so big (and made her life unbearable) was released into the Bear. Now, she can harness her power through the Bear, and that's what I'm teaching her so we can beat the Gobblers." Tom explained.

Dibble looked at him. "You talk too much." she said.

"I do not!" Tom fired.

"Do too!"

"Do not!"

"Do too!"

"Do not!"

The Bear looked at Irial and giggled.
