Oh, it's just Italian poltergeists doing tricks with the candles. Sylkat, you may find it rewarding to Google "Poveglia Venice Italy" for the most haunted island in Europe. Here's a reason why it is thus named.

The Norwegian book I got is called Desember Gata: Ingen vei tilbake by Thomas White. It's not a very Norwegian sounding name, so I guess it is a translation. It's going to be a long time before I read it though.
Never heard of it, sorry. It might be translated, but it could be a pen name too.
There is a Norwegian western book series about Morgan Kane, written by Kjell Hallbing, under the pseudonym Louis Masterson. There's even a song about Morgan Kane. At one point it was made into a pretty cool music video.

Ooh, thanks for that tip, Krabo! What an exciting story! I can't believe the place doesn't ring any bells... It's the kind of place I'm ashamed to not be aware of...
Krabo, Finnish TV sure must be more interesting than Norwegian...
Enviro, great to see a close up of you

Really? Huh. Who'd have thought...
I saw a very nice Finnish documentary years ago on either SVT1 or SVT2. It was called "Käraste sköldpadda", and was about a turtle-loving couple who took care of pet turtles who needed vet help in the city where they lived, for people who lived too far away. IIRC, they had 7 tortoises living with them at the time of the documentary. They fed them, bathed them and put them to 'bed'. It was really sweet

Apparently sometimes foreigners would bribe local fisherman to take them there for a visit. From what I gather (reading in Italian), it's not so much that they won't let you visit there, so much as it is not recommended (because it is derelict and unsafe) and not many locals want to go. The reports I read said that locals would normally drop you off, and come back a few hours later to pick you up, because they didn't want tostay around.
